Need Help

Hello everyone..

I have a cx-803 device that suddenly stopped working so i tried to flash it with too many roms but it fails every time until i found that the new roms with bootloader version 2 or later are the only one's that flash with no problem but when i hook the device to my tv it stays it boot screen..the older versions with bootloader version 1.22 or less that 2 give me an error that says "bootlader start fail"..please tell me how I can overcome this situation any advice I would be very appreciated..thanks

Hi Spyready,
At present, there are 2 bootloader using with CX803,
- With Jelly Bean, using bootloader 1.34
- With Kitkat (4.4), must be used bootloader verison 2.3 or higher (ex: 2.5).
If you want to use Kitkat, you must use bootloader above.
You should try to Rockchip Batch Tool to flash .img of Dumonde.
When you load .img, you will see the info of bootloader version on your left dialogue.
The syntax of flash image, if your stick use the bootloader lower .img flash, you can flash to higher (but only same version of Android OS). Otherwise, your must downgrade the bootloader if you want to use the lower Android OS (Jelly Bean) on Kitkat bootloader .

Thanks for your responce and now i understand why I was unsuccessful in flashing my device... I got your point and now I just want to know how to downgrade my bootloader in case if I wanted to go back to jellybeen or somthin... Thank you very much

Hi Spyready,
To do your request,
- First (very important), backup your ROM in use (if it is good) by CWM or Android Tool (recommend use Android Tool)
- Next, you can use this tip to install another bootloader.
+ Plug your stick into computer (installed rockusb driver). When you plug device keep Reset or Fn until computer recognize your device
+ Use Android tool to flash another bootloader rockchip (Ex: RK3188xx.bin) to change Android Loader to Mask ROM
+ Use Rockchip Batch Tool to flash .img (any bootloader version) to create new OS.

Appreciate your hard work Dumonde. I just have one problem. I have no audio on the latest version. Any idea where i went wrong. No problem with your previous rom version.

Found the problem. One of the HDMI pin connection to the motherboard was broken. Now working.

Thanks for the greak ROM. Android 4.4 for rk3066 was a dream! 2 problem:

* Cannot wake up on usb mouse click. When the TV set was turned off for a while, cannot wake the tv stick up by mouse when the TV set is turn back on. Had to re-plug the dc power supply.

* Overheating while playing high bitrate video stream. had to use no-frill cpu control to hold CPU frequency to 1.2GHz.

The ROM looks really good - the first well running KitKat ROM for my MK808! Screen scaling OK, Logitech C270 supported ...

More good things to report:

- Skype works (crashed on Finless 2.1)
- HDMI passthrough Audio works with MX Player
- Amazon Instant Video better than on Android 4.2 (though still not perfect yet)
- Netflix working, quality OK (not as good as on Apple TV)
- Screen scaling works and is by default on max size (already mentioned above)
- Webcam Logitech C270 works (already mentioned above)

Issues::

- RKRemote does not work
- Netflix does not support HDMI audio passthrough (only 2.0 audio) - may also be a Netflix app issue, not necessarily related to the ROM
- Kodi does not work with HDMI passthrough (only 2.0 audio) - do I need to patch libmedia.so, and with which version?
- CPU frequency seems to be stuck at 1GHz - at least No Frills CPU says so. Do I need to update the kernel to get higher speed on demand?

Bottom line: Excellent ROM also for MK808 (though I assume wifi will not work, I am using an ethernet adapter) - great job, Dumonde!

Try SPMC but RKlibstagefright might not work..
