Thx, they both look great really! They even support HW XBMC playback.

But now i've got through the payment for the RK3188 device. 53 bucks and let's see if they can write $20 on the pacakge to avoid the customs tax here. If so it'll be a bargain purchase. Can't complain at all i guess.

Ohhh I gotcha , after the root it's running faster and smoother so I may use it for my bedroom box for minimal use unless i find a stable way to flash a custom Rom.
I don't wanna mess with it until I find out I can lol

    How to flash?

Any ideas on how to flash with a custom ROM on that screen in the pic I posted and which Rom would be best for this?

You don't have to change anything, just put the "update.zip" on SD-card and start it from the recovery, it just works.

Unfortunately the zip-file is lost in the original thread, but I still have it and attach it here.

Woow Blindseyed...that's a very bad news...i hope someone can enlighten this...

I don't know for sure about the 5 conductor otg cable.....maybe just my bad to roote this question ( i mean is it possible that the otg usb port is simply not software enabled?)

Maybe could worth a try to reboot and press the recovery button ( if any) and do some flash using a suggested compatible firmware on sd card

In any way, please Blindseyed let us know any step ahead, thanx

    Rob

Hmmm Im stuck, cant get it into flash mode. I'm not sure if I need to power it on with the power chord or what. I may need to 5 pin OTG usb like he said earlier. I'm obviously missing something or doing something wrong

Any step by step help or ideas would be appreciated
