Seen that the MK809III I thought was this one is another one I got. I know it because my WiFi was set up on it. I have not found my MK809III yet that don't get any video out of the HDMI port.

When I find it I will see if I can install the miniroot.

Got a RS-232 working on it.

Installed the miniroot but with the HDMI not working I could not see any thing. So I hooked up a RS-232 to it. Had to solder. They make it easy with 3 points labeled RTG on the side.

Set it to 115200 baud rate. The 1ST time all the text came up.

But I can't type in it. I think it stops because no HDMI display. The last of the text looks like this:

        Code:
[ 8.037122] hub 1-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 1
[ 9.447041] hub 1-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 1
        [ 10.187057] DWC_OTG: dwc_otg_hcd_enable, disable host controller
        [ 12.707122] hub 1-0:1.0: connect-debounce failed, port 1 disabled

Not sure what I can do now. But at left seems better can see it's data out the RS-232.

          I got it to miniroot!

I flashed it again but this time used the parameter "serial console" downloaded from http://androtab.info/miniroot/ now I have to see if I can install ubuntu 14.04 server on it.

Here is how it came to the miniroot on the RS-232.

          miniroot# [ 9.394418] DWC_OTG: dwc_otg_hcd_enable, disable host controller

          miniroot# [ 17.184342] DWC_OTG: ********vbus detect******************************************** *

          miniroot# ls
bin dev etc init lib mnt proc root sbin sys usr
          miniroot#
When I flash it I had to hold the button in on the side all the way till it was done. I guess when I solder the RS-232 must of mess that part up some how. If I let it go it would say rockchip not found.

Something is just wrong with mine.

The RS-232 worked on it good. But it would not see any USB things. So I gave up on it.

I did get another MK809III but this one don't look the same inside. The out side has the name of Android on it. The one talking about in here don't.

But found out from Google+ that can now boot right off a SD card. I did that with this bad MK809III and it would not go to were you can type. Just do a lot of text and reboot over and over.

But from Google+ I downloaded that image for the MK809III and did image to a SD card 16GB class 10 fast one. It boots super fast Ubuntu desktop and works super good.

On Google+ the link is here.

This is so super because it don't use the built in flash that has Android on it. It could even boot off the SD card with a bank flash in side it. It just don't use it at all. I guess that's what they did with the new ones.

This is super can take out the SD card and be back to Android.

The image just boots up fast and your in it.

I got a blue color HDMI stick it's 4 core 2GB RAM and it's the only one that the WiFi worked on.

Let me know if this works for you?

Any other working firmware for this board ?

After many tries I confirm only Finless rom is working on this stick.
it seems also the cpu is set to 1.2Ghz and not 1.4 like the others r3188t chips.
the only issue experienced with the Finless rom is that the Download manager is not opening and crash.\
              Tried many changes without success.

More stable release of KK went out and I found a good and recent working release, but Wifi is not working.

What the KK rom are you using with this tv stick ?

              Thanks
              Chris
