Bob may you are right, but I think it is not only Rockchip.
We know we can have good Improved KK Firmware for RK3188,
But I think they don´t want to put Work in Improved Firmware.
The same is with Cube. They also do not provide Updates even not for 4.2.2.

That's a shame. With several really nice tablets...they should have found a good stable stopping point, rather than leave us all hanging with unfinished firmware.

Looks like we will have to just live with the little annoyances.

This will not Help. With Tablets from Acer HP or others you will see the same Problem. The only Tablet I know with good Support is the Nexus 7 Tablets from Google.
Even the 2012 Tablet gets Kit Kat.
The Nexus 7 2012 you get for 100 USD.

Over on TEGRAOWNERS, one of the developers there took the latest version of omnirom and produced a stable version of omnirom kitkat for my four year old Acer a100. The rom works great, has plenty of features. And it's fairly fast for a Tegra 3 (dual core 1.2 ghz). I'm pretty sure that neither Acer nor nvidia has updated anything for that in over a year. It's hardware specs and performance are not bad, but no where near the pipo m6pro. Stability is just as good, and there are a lot more features. Only reason I bought another tablet is that the battery is wearing down and the buttons are starting to wear out.

Is that not even possible for rockchip devices?

Alas, my call for coworkers in the kernel dev for rockchip tablets got 600views and zéro answer...
TV box ROM ans kernel devs are able to give US a hand or what ?

If you haven't noticed, one week after I started this thread...and emails started shooting to Anna, we got 3 new ROM updates posted on their web site with final versions of KitKat. It seems that there is still some work for them to do.

M9 Pro and U8 are taken care of.

M7 Pro is good with the M9 Pro update.

M8 Pro got an official release.

Now all we need are updates for M8 HD and M6 Pro to cover all of the 3188's (I think).

Humm. I see china will not have the plague. But rockchip will not provide support to mod kernel of devices like my tronsmart mk908 running at 222mhz ddr like in suspend config...so...baddly deseparate i post everywhere about it at mk908 1.8 finless thread and d33 kernel thread. At least 3 post at different thread with no answer like a 'no-one-see' i also start a thread '222mhz on mk908....' no-one-see

Individual mails to Ana are not enough,
We really need that our beloved pipo conforms to GPL and though publish its kernel sources for as many tablets models as we have custom Roms for!!!

Blindly customizing bugous kernel based Android roms without change log ever brings some random satisfaction but we as pasionates and customers deserve much more.

Official firmware are one thing, but us being able to fix and upgrade the kernel is much better, give US the power, pipo !
