Tried that, has the effect of putting all screen orientations out by whatever value you choose. Make it interesting to use the screen odd one too it also rotates the gingercomb boot image.

Have found something else, i set the wifi sleep policy to always on when the screen is off, after the tablet falls asleep for a while and i turn it on i have to disconnect the wifi and reconnect as the connection has died. Not sure if this is a known problem. For now i have changed the policy to kill the wifi when the screen is off.

    Cheers,

    Blinky

Blinky, I change the wifi SCAN interval to 300 seconds to save battery life. Very common tweak!

So again go into build.prop and edit this:
      wifi.supplicant_scan_interval=300

Stock it was 15 seconds! So maybe change it to 50 seconds? or back to stock 15 seconds? I am sure this is what you are seeing. On wake up it takes longer to aquire.

        Hey guys! Thanks for testing!

But now it is time to test again

I have modded the services.jar file like I did with the 7G2 and this "should" fix the battery icon in the status bar so it updates properly! Only you "testers" can tell me if it works as I cannot test this.

OK rather than upload an entire ROM and make you guys download it and flash it. This is ONLY system.img.
So take my original 8G2 BETA ROM kit and rename the system.img file in /image folder to system.old. Now unzip this and put it in the /image folder so you have a new system.img file in there.

Now based on 7G2 testing you SHOULD be able to flash system.img BY IT SELF! That means you will NOT loose all your installed APPs etc!!!! So when you run the flash tool UNCHECK everything other than system.img and flash only system.img. You do not need to erase IDB as that will erase all your installed programs!
NOW...... If you have some issues or something is not working right after doing it this way. Then please flash the entire ROM and erase IDB to be sure.

Here is the new system.img with the battery icon fix.

Please let me know if this solves the battery icon in the status bar problem,

          Another update guys.

I just found out why when you select ALL in APP Injector, some /system apps were not getting installed. The reason is I was not giving enough space to /system and it filled up. So the final ROM will have 300mb of system space which should be plenty for all APPs as well as stuff you guys may want to install there later.

I should have the final ROM out after you guys test for a few more days.

Blinky, et al, have you guys tried the new system.img posted above yet?

            Bob,

Sorry for the late reply have been working in my bathroom for the last couple of days, not had time for anything else.

I have flashed the new system.img and although something went wrong with the flash that required a full reflash i am glad to say it all works really well. One thing i will say is that the battery life on this rom is brilliant, no complaints at all.

As far as i can tell everything work, speed is great and very stable. I run the screen at 140dpi as i like to have more on the screen and this to causes no issues.

One thing that people might like to use is an apk called "appwidgetpicker-1.2.3.apk", it can be found over on the xda forums. You dont install but instead drop it into the system/app folder and reboot. It will group the widgets together when selecting fot the desktop, something you might want to have a look at.

One question, is the rom compatiable with the supercharging scripts or is that something for the future?

Again thank you very much for all you hard work with this rom.

            Cheers,

            Blinky

I have CRACKED the init.d issue. Arnova disabled any form of init.d support which is truely needed to support V6 Supercharge script or any custom scripts you want to run at boot. I now have that working on my 10G2. No need to edit init.rc in boot.img either because it has full init.d support now.

Expect a 2.2 Pro ROM from me soon. To start it will be for the 10G2 of course.

                  Bob,

Still using the latest version of your rom, 2.1, and no problems at all, really chuffed with it. I read in one of the other threads that you have been able to overclock using a script on your new 2.2 rom but had problems with stability.

Question, if it is possible to overclock is it also possible to underclock? My thinking is that when the screen if off the cpu scales back by say half and therefore uses less power, in turn the battery would last longer.

Also if you are able to adjust the cpu frequency are you also able to adjust the voltage delivered to the cpu at a set speed, or is this not going to be possible till the kernel source is released?

Thanks again and looking forward to the final release on this tablet.

                  Cheers,

                  Blinky.

I wont be able to do voltage as the hardware doesnt support it.

As for the overclokcing or underclocking. It needs a bunch more work from me. I dont think I am doing it right yet which is making it unstable. When I get some more time I will look into it.

                      Hi Bob,

Wondering if you have time to drop a copy of your 2.2 over to this rom, would love to give it a go.

Can't find any issues with this rom so far and am very happy with it.

If your to busy don't worry just I'm a tweak freak and love to play.

                      Cheers again,

                        You have a 10b G3?

So you want gingercomb 2.2 on the 10b G3? Or you want init.d support in this G3 ROM?

Cheers Bob, does look like I am the only 8g2 user around. Funny as when Sowa and Morka were on the scene there where a few of us, now you have release to best rom to date and I'm the only one left.

Not to worry means I get to do all the testing which I like.

                                Hi there,

No you're not the only one following this thread, but I'm a newcomer and I just found out about this great ROM. Having had my 8G2 for only a few months, I tried several ROMs such as Morka's or Sowa's without being totally satisfied: several bugs, and FC on apps. Then I discovered this one and since I can't put my Arnova to rest.

So keep up with this great job. And you can also count on me for the testing ;-)

                                Cheers,
