    hth,
    cheers,

Thanks, but I am not sure how to erase the IDB using rkflash? I did it once using RKandroidtool with no difference.
    Also I use the geekbuying 4.4 http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...570#post197570
and that required the rkbatchtool, no erasing capability?
I also noticed that my device is stuck on flash mode.

    Thanks

      Thanks
download the neomode custom 3.1 rom thats kitkat and has the rkandroid tool so you can erase the idb with the neomode rom loaded in. It has the correct loader and parameter file so your idb gets erased properly.

      cheers,

Thanks Vec, used the android tool (Neomode Custom Rom MK809III Version 3.1 Android 4.4.2 *Update*) to only erase idb, and not "run", then rkbatch to "restore" your firmware image, still idb fail, any other suggestions will be appreciated.

there's an advanced tool called android tool v2.1 you can try messing with that it will test your idb and everything. So good luck! Those Q7 boxes are pretty cheaply made your nand maybe toast already (hw fail) dunno. here is the link too the androidtool v2.1

          good luck let me know

If you really get a problem with your nand and/or find no other way to flash the box, there also exist another way to "reset" your device call "mask rom mode"...
I never use it, but I know that it was helpful at others...

            Here my "collection":

            =========================

            -------

Got it flashing again by using a paperclip on every nand pin until it entered mask rom mode.
Has a Toshiba Nand chip, different than all the other maskrom tutorials that are for other nand chips.

            -------

Mask rom can be entered by connecting pin 8-9 on the chip and plug in the power plug( some on 7 and 8 ) google it.. there is some info on it.

            -------

            1. Start Rockchip Batch Tool v1.7
            2. connect the OTG port to your PC
            3. not hold the reset button underneath the box or press the power button (the light should stay red)
            4. Toshiba nand chip and the right pins were on the left side, somewhere from the bottom with the 'Toshiba' name readable not upside down
            5. then connect the power adapter and then a blue square will show up in Rockchip Batch Tool v1.7 instead of a green square when you hold the reset button

            -------

MASK mode fixed my bad (slow) NAND. Box is reading and writing normally again

            ---------------

            ---------------

Part 1: Open v88 and short out NAND module
            1. Unplug usb and power charger from v88.
            2. Perform a "Deep Power Off" by pressing the Power button for at least 20 secs
            3. Start up both RKBatchTool and RKAndroidTool using admin privileges
            4. Open v88 casing
            5. Power on v88
            6. Connect v88 to PC using USB
            7. Locate pins 8 & 9 on the #1 NAND module and short them out using a small pin, paperclip or small screwdriver. If shorting out pins 8 & 9 don't work, try shorting out pins 7 & 8
            8. By shorting out the NAND module, you have put your tablet in "Mask ROM Mode." The RKAndroidTool should now indicate your tablet is recognized by showing the following message: "Found RKAndroid MaskRom Rock Usb"

Part 2: Erase corrupt NAND memory
            1. Click on the #1 box within RKAndroidTool (the Loader box)
            2. Click on "EraseIDB"
            3. Wait for the RKAndroidTool to indicate the EraseIDB was successful
            4. You can now close out RKAndroidTool

            Part 3: Reflash firmware/ROM onto v88
            1. Load firmware/ROM into RKBatchTool
            2. RKBatchTool should have it's #1 Box highlighted in blue
            3. Click Flash ROM
            4. Done

Thanks no_spam for your help, but I think those instructions apply to a device that cannot get to a flash mode, mine is the opposite, as it shows green on the rkbatchtool and always says "device found" on the RKandroidtool, my problem is the kk4.4, geekbuying, was using RKbatch tool to flash their image and not the RKandroid tool in which I can erase the IDB.
Also thank you verc for trying to also help.
Please remember my device is constantly on the flash mode, green colour.
Posted on the geekbuying post for help, but no reply.
Thanks everyone an d happy Canada Day Verc.

Sorry, I don't really understand. What does "... mine is the opposite, as it shows green on the rkbatchtool and always says "device found" on the RKandroidtool..." mean? ONLY to 'flash mode' or also able to get to 'flash mode' and normal use?

But if you have the problem to erase the IDB, maybe veclinux way works:
Use rkandroidtools instead of rkbatch, you can find it e.g. at

                and 2.01 at

AND have to use it with the bootloader.bin exist at the actual flashed rom. You can find out witch one is in use at the moment with

                You can find the bootloader

If this all not work, my way maybe helps, because at that moment the device is at 'mask rom mode' the nand is empty (like a vergin)...

                  Hi no_spam
Sorry for the confusion, the truth is more than likely I am not sure of what I am doing.
Currently my device is stuck on flash mode. So when I run RKbatch tool, it always shows in green, also it seems to me the purpose of 8-9 pin is to get it to the flash mode. Is that correct?
Also when I used Verc's method with the RKandroidtool, I erased the idb, or at least that what is showing. But then when I try to flash the device back using RKbatch tool, I get "prepare idb fail".
I was also told by Verc to use node ver 3.1 for KK4.4 to erase properly which I did, but encountered same problem when I flashed with RKBATCH, "idb fail".
I hope that clarified my situation, and again truly thanks for the help.

                    Is you firmware 4.2.2 (JB)?

What version of Beyond XBMC is preinstalled?

Have you tried it with 3D movies (SBS) and DTS audio?

NO, with shorting the pins at the nand chip you will get (into) the 'mask rom mode' which is a different mode as the "normal" flash mode...

Part 2: Erase corrupt NAND memory
                                1. Click on the #1 box within RKAndroidTool (the Loader box)
                                2. Click on "EraseIDB"
                                3. Wait for the RKAndroidTool to indicate the EraseIDB was successful
                                4. You can now close out RKAndroidTool

                                1. Load firmware/ROM into RKBatchTool
                                2. RKBatchTool should have it's #1 Box highlighted in blue
                                3. Click Flash ROM

Tried every pin hoping on RKandroid tool hoping to see "Found RKadroid MaskRom Rock Usb", but still showing " Found RKandroid Loader Rock usb". Unless I am supposed to restart the RKandroid tool every time I touch a new pin?
Or maybe its the wrong chip?

                                My board printed XT-Q7-V10, 2013-12-05, WIFI:RTL8188EUS, BT:Mediatek MT622N

The chip I am trying to bridge pins has only 2 sets of pins right and left, printed: 1236, 29F64G08CRABA.
                                Is that the correct chip?
                                Thanks
