When you uninstall or reinstall xbmc it wipes :

on your SD Internal Card - /data/org.xbmc.xbmc

this is a hidden version , you can use ES File Manager with view hidden files in the settings.

/data/org.xbmc.xbmc/files/.xbmc/userdata/ is the folder you need to backup on the working version xbmc before uninstalling or reinstalling the xbmc version , just delete or rename the new userdata folder and copy you saved version to the same.

You may need to reinstall add-ons (videos, skins , etc) after you restore userdata because different versions of xbmc require different versions of add-ons

    more here :

Titanium backups also allows backup/restore of data for selected apps.

I think there is a bug with SMB in gotham:

I think I also read somewhere that it now requires a domain and a user/password...

I switched to NFS sharing much more reliable with the added benefit that I can mount a BluRay player and use it on my android box....
