I use the cwm recovery of the cube ugt9 and it works fine.

I press button +volume + power to go to recovery.

To flash with rk image only press +volume and connect usb.

Something is very odd with this tablet. When I modify system.img it will not boot....

I think I know why but will have to work on it more today.

Ok. Don't worry. I tried to do myself mounting system in linux but the tablet didn't boot. maybe it's the same problem.

The fact that boot.img has a kernel in it and there is a kernel.img, this maybe it! If there is a kernel in boot.img then it is used instead of the kernel.img that gets flashed. I think they are trying to trick us

OK it turns out your system.img (stock) will not boot on my tablet period. So I cannot test anything at all!
Very odd as other ICS system.img will boot it's just the screen wont work. But at least I can test it boots. Not in this case!

So what I am going to do is make baby steps. I am going to simply make a new system.img with root. Nothing else! If that works on your tablet then we can move on.

OK here is the first test ROM.
All I did was make a new system.img with root (SU and Superuser.apk)

Also I fixed your ROM flash tool. It now points to the image files and you do not have to click the little boxes and point to them. It's all setup.
Just unzip this, run the ROM flash tool. CLICK ERASE IDB first! You must do this so we get a clean format to start. Yes it will erase all your apps and user data so backup. Then just press run and it will flash the full ROM.

Let me know if this boots. If it does then we are on our way.

Ok bob. Good and bad news..or not at all...I don't know.

The good one is that the rom works!
The bad or semigood is exactly as you explain doesn't boot.
But if I change the loader and put mine the tablet boots ok.

Is it a problem? What do you think?

OK in the ROM I downloaded from the link you sent me

In /RKAndroid tool/rockdev
They had 5 loaders in there
RK29xxLoader(L)_DDR3_400Mhz_V1.66.bin
RK29xxLoader(L)_V2.06.bin
RK29xxLoader(L)_V2.08.bin
RK29xxLoader(L)_V2.14.bin
RK29xxLoader(L)_V2.20.bin

As you see I was using 2.20. Which one are you using?

This would be the first time I have ever seen a "newer" loader not work?

But if you want I try again with the 2.20.

Try one more time with loader 2.20. Make sure you erase IDB please as the loader counts on that happening.

I will also see if 1.66 works on my tablet.

OH and just in case try 2.20 from YOUR ROM kit instead of mine. Maybe I used mine and not the one from the stock ROM kit.
