Dragonpat, so is this ROM I have done ready for prime time? e.g. ready to come out of beta so I can post in in the ROM forum for others? Or does it need something?

Yes of course! Use titanium backup to make a ZIP file. Then use CWM to install it.Originally posted by dragonpat View Post

CWM ZIPs do not "flash" a ROM. They simply install files into the partitions.

But for example if I use a cwm zip from cm9, cm9 is installed in my tablet. Before it I do a complete wipe and all is erased....don't you?

It's more compicated that that. A full ROM flash flashes the partameter file also which sets up the partition sizes. It also makes the paritions. It also flashes the kernel (RK29 CWM cant do that!!!!!).
So when you wipe it is like erasing a disk. Just erases data. It does not FORMAT the disk. Then it uses the ZIP to write all the files back in the erased disk. Like a "ghost" image. SO again... it is not a full ROM flash. It is only rewriting files in
Cache
Data
System
And it writes the new boot,img.
It does not wite kernel, recovery, or the pararmeter file.

hi bob. I'm trying to modify the original system.img but I can't. I can take off apps but when I try to put one app in system/app it tells me that there is not enough space.
why can I modify your system.img but not the original?

Because the original is full. Remember it is a disk image. So to make more space you have to make a NEW disk image that is larger and copy everything from the old image into the new image.
