Pipo M7 Pro RileyROM 3.2 KitKat

If you have been following versions 2.5 through 3.1, you may have noticed I've been switching off between the latest M9 Pro ROM's and M7 Pro ROM's. That's because they are very similar in design. The ROM's are pretty interchangeable...except for the kernels.

v3.0 and 3.1 were based on M9 Pro firmware with the kernel from v2.7...based on a 3/3/14 firmware release.

Today, I ran across a newer firmware for the M7 Pro, dated 3/26/14...so I've based this new RileyROM on this previously unreleased version with a newer kernel (I think). So, even though the firmware is dated 3/26...it's is the most recent firmware for the M7 Pro.

Let's hope this fixes some of the problems encountered in the M9 Pro port.

    I hope that wasn't too complicated...hahahaha!!!!!!!!

    This ROM is:

    Rooted
    Debloated
    Init.d/Busybox support
    1, 2, 4, 6, 8 or 12gb user app space (4gb default)
Auto Install available (as with my other ROM's)
TWRP Recovery by Abdul_pt...installed after first boot
    Google Play Store fixes
All of the typical RileyROM features

    Reboot app by Petrus
    Flash Tool by Finless
    Boot animation by me

    Download

    Enjoy!!!!!!!!!

From your post. "Today, I ran across a newer firmware for the M7 Pro."

    Maybe you should say, "
Today, I was told by Send2014 about a newer firmware..."

    From my post..

    I have installed this “M7 pro 3G & NO 3G Chinese 4.4 20140326.img” from Pipo Facebook page.

    GPS works.
    Camera works
    Exchange corporate account works.
Labels missing on the icons on the home screen, installed Apex launcher to fix this.

    ..

    You also say "
Google Play Store fixes", what Google fixes? our Pipo M7pro installs all the programs okay..

    Send..

first thing i noticed directly: in settings there is again no point to switch modem power off, so we have to use the modified ilb file or switch it if we need more 3g power...

btw, i baked a few oc-kernels from the new kernel included in this rom:

but i think i am going to take the new kernel and replace it in rr3.0 as it seems to be the best rom so far, the camera bug is still there and a lot of new apps that close themselves like exchange services on every boot... haven't tested gps because i don't give a damn about that feature...

RR 3.2 is very unstable/buggy for me.
Several times Exchange error, Playstore crash, reboots.
I will try RR 3.0 or I'll switch back to RR 2.8

            Thanks MFinchy

I would try this new batch of kernels with 3.0 or 2.8 and see which is more stable.

Remember 3.0 is missing things like camera and Exchange Server. Otherwise...it works pretty well. 3.2 is actually older firmware, but has the newest kernel for the M7 Pro.

The kernel included in RR2.8.1 is #173 dated Mar 6, 2014 and the 1 included in 3.2 is #172 dated March 5, 2014. Funny that the should be older kernel seemed to be 1 day newer than the 1 included in 3.2

I can't say 3.2 is better than 2.8.1 but it's working fine on my M7pro. I only get the exchange error but never had a Playstore crash and an abnormal reboot yet.

I prefer 2.8.1 than 3.0, I feel that it's a bit slugging and got several unwanted reboots in my tab. Now I've been using 3.2 for 2 days and it is as stable as 2.8.1 for me.

With 3.0 i can use camera for taking pictures but not for video, PDF scanner is working, barcode scanner doesn't work. Dunno why....

                            Hello herrjemineh,

I've tried kernel_cpu1704h_gpu600h_ddr720.zip which was in the past the best OC kernel settings for my tablet, but with RR 3.0 I get a lott of reboots so I'm using now the standard kernel. Are your kernels newer or older then the RR 3.0 kernel?

Can ypu provide us OC RR 3.0 kernel as well?

                            Thanks and kind regards

I have similar experience as this. v3.2 runs pretty well on my tablet. With replacement of Email.apk and Exchange2.apk the exchange server error is gone. I got the replacement apk from xda http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto...-apks-t2627528
