Yes, first app functionality is to "remap" and use USB/ethernet adapter, but if you read xda thread linked in description you will see that what we expect (see ethernet as wifi) has been requested and added in new versions.
It's just a bit strange how it works, it's needed to:
    -Install app, reboot once
-Launch app, go to upper left (notifications) and "enable"
-Go again to notifications and "Stop app" (or "disable" is proposed)
-Then you'll see upper right "wired network" icon changing to wifi icon!
At this point every app I tested requesting wifi are working with no problem over ethernet...
You can switch again on-the-fly to ethernet/wifi by enabling/disabling through notification.

A bit laborious and looks more like a proof-of-concept but it works! Still to improve though

Just uninstall app, problem will be gone
Not sure anymore, can't get it to work again

Maybe it just switched to real wifi, forget it, sorry

The Ethernet port wasn't working before I installed the app, it seems to be dead!

I've used at an Ethernet to USB adapter now and tried the app. Very, very strange but it actually does seem to work! You have to reboot and turn on/off the app then the "WiFi" signal turns on but I'm getting my data through the Ethernet and my max download speeds have gone from 10mb/s to 50mb/s(I have a 50mb/s connection). Really amazing and great!

        Thanks!

PS, the apps that usually don't work when Ethernet is connected now work but only because it seems to "think " the WiFi is connected.

Nice if it works as you expect at least with USB/Ethernet adapter, and happy I was not totally wrong

I'm only getting to test it when the film my wife's watching goes to the ads but it does seem to work!

Can you not just forget the wifi and see if it still works? Or connect it a non internet router?

Too bad this app is not working to spoof the connection type to allow all apps to use Ethernet without issue. Seems that the Android os has no issues with Ethernet but a great many Android apps have been designed for wifi or a phone data connection only. Beyond getting Ethernet to work with apps, apparently the apps are often customized for the device, Netflix for example only allows content in HD on certain devices no matter how good your connection to the Internet might be or the fact that your device can do 4k2k.

I tested and I thought it was working but is not. I "forgot" the WiFi Connection to make sure that wasn't go to re-connect to it.

Running this method it shows the WiFi Connection but no data.
