Bricked X7 when flashing from KitKat to official 008 ROM
I flashed KitKat ROM a moment ago, but when i tested xbmc i had same problems that with other ROMs. I tried to flash back to official minix firmware 008, which i was supposed to update to 010. Flashing failed. I have flashed to that ROM from other ROMs (not kitkat) before without problems. Now when I try to connect X7 to computer in recovery mode, it stays connected only a few seconds and then disconnects. I cant flash anything or otherwise connect to my X7. It doesnt even power on. Does somebody know what might be the problem or better yet the solution, or have I bricked my device forever?Tags: None

Still in trouble?
Take a tool to flash a Kitkat rom (not the Qs3, as it doesn't have the option to format), I took the tool in Miracle rom 1.1 from Genny in Minix forums. See that you have the Loader marked 2. something as first line, than click on erase IDB. The count must arrive to 4096 if I am not wrong. Than you can change rom if you want and load another tool for the rom of your choice (or go on and flash Genny's rom, altogether). If you have problems ( after clicking the hidden pin together with power to put Minix in flash mode ) keep the power button pressed for the whole process ( during erase idb or later during flashing of the whole rom of your choice - btw once you have the new rom in the tool, you do NOT need to erase idb a second time before starting flash operation! )
Let us know

I bricked my x7 a lot of times, most of them because I wanted to brick it to test a secure way to recover it. all of the times, with Windows XP, or Windows 7, pressing both, recovery and power the whole flash process, the device was unbricked. Without need to short Pines on nand.
I used rkbachtool 1.7.
