MINIX NEO X8-H Internet speeds

    I am also having strange behaviour on internet speeds. I've tried all available roms (stock rom, finless, beta, hardguru...) and i'm getting the same behaviour.
    On wifi i am getting 32mb download / 6mb upload
    on ethernet - 26mb down / 5mb up

    I have a laptop right next to the box and it gets completely different numbers:
    Wifi - 43mb download / 6mb upload
    Ethernet - 56mb download / 6mb upload.

    Is this normal? Is my device faulty?

      I'm interested to see what speeds WiFi gives me on the X8. My S89 had terrible WiFi speeds. On my 50mb/s connection I was getting 15mb/s whilst on my phone beside the box I was getting the max 50mb/s.

      It'll be interesting to see if its a driver or perhaps chip problem if downloads are also slow on the X8.

          Good news, it seems that my ethernet speeds are now ok. It happened after i rooted the devide with Gufone's firmware. I'm not sure why, but now i have 46mbs of download stabilized, when before i could only reach 26mbs.

                    That's the one. I made Ookla speedtest right after i tested every available rom and nothing changed. But after i rooted the device with this method, it changed my ethernet and wifi speed.

                      Well, it seems that my ethernet speeds slowed down again, so i guess that the changes were not caused by that Gufone's root method.
                      Now i'm back again to 26mbs download on ethernet vs 33mbs download on wifi. Also the graphics of Ookla speedtest show the ethernet connection with ups and downs, while the wifi connection is very stable.

                      It can only be a bad ethernet driver.
                      This is also causing me buffering issues on icefilms and gomovies addons. It's always buffering-play-pause.
                      I have a RPI and i get no buffering issues with this addons and i get 55mbs download stable on ethernet.
                      I am staring to regret of upgrading from the RPI to this box...

                          Problem solved! I thought i tested my ethernet speed with finless rom but i didn't.. I reinstalled the finless rom and i got 56mbs of download speed, the same top speed of my laptop and Raspberry Pi.
                          The only problem is that the finless rom doesn't have 1080p@24fps support and that's for me is essential.
                          Just have to wait until new finless updates...

                            24P will be in my next ROM either doing it myself or Minixc putting it in their next release.

                            FYI Beelink released a updated settings APK that has it in it. I do not know if it will work on the Minix though.
