Stock Android should already contain a fully working key mapping for the wired Xbox 360 controller. The same can be used for the wireless one if renamed to match the correct USB device id.

Here is 'joydev.ko' module driver. AKAIK, even kernel already have the 'hid-sony' driver as builtin, PS3 controller still need this joystick driver. But I can not check because I don't have controller.

Would you please check this module for PS3 controller?

since finless 1.7 has init.d support; how can I add a script to load the modules on boot?

As a 'root' permission,

#!/system/bin/sh
insmod /path/to/gamport.ko
insmod /path/to/xpad.ko
======

save as '99joystick' to /system/etc/init.d folder and,

chmod 755 99joystick

then reboot.
