root problems

OK you guys are right. On a new flash CLEAN and then installing my tweaker, root in not there.

I will fix this and re-release.

In the mean time this EZ root package I made works on the Minix as well.

I don't know why your browser is gone? I just tested and it is there for me. I have NO command in my script to remove it.

What ROM did you install my patch on?

If you look in /system/app/ the Browser.apk should be there.

I did a clean install of Hardware Guru's flashable Beta 2 - the full factory reset zip. Booted it once, set up screen, then flashed your tweak set and rooted the rom. Hey presto, brilliant Ethernet.

But no browser..no worries, I've found an apk.

Guys, the missing browser has nothing to do with Bob's tweaker. It is missing even BEFORE installing the tweaker. The funny thing is that it is in the rom, but it does not install. This is with flashing:

Why is it there for me?
Your talking about Browser.apk or something else?
Icon shows up in the AOSP launcher as a round globe.

You're quite right. It's been there all along in system/app - but won't install.

System APPs do not install. They are installed.

Again I am not having this problem at all. It shows up in APPs with the AOSP launcher. I did not check using the MINIX launcher. Maybe that's where your not seeing it?

Nope, Bob, the round globe icon doesn't show up anywhere - except in the system/app drawer. It's there, it looks like it's installed but its not visible in either the AOSP or Minix launcher.

Its permissions are R/W for all users

I restored my browser from titanium. It wasn't there when I flashed fresh hwg stock beta and tweaks. Not a big deal at all to me. I wiped manually before installing as well just some input from my experience

I'm no newbie at this stuff anymore,done it a hundred times now,but I can't get my X8-H to boot into recovery for love nor money - at least not with the SD card plugged in. Before you ask , no otg cable plugged in, no usb devices or Ethernet etc and SD is fat 32 - what's going on? Could it be that it's a 32gb card? Had no issues flashing zips and updates on the X7 or the Vega S89.... Any ideas? Suppose my option is find another SD card and eliminate that idea... Just thought I'd ask as its usually very straightforward and I am fully able to follow instructions lol

hope I'm not insulting you but have you turned off the device, put a needle into the recovery hole located at the back right of the box, held that in while pressing the power button once on the box, all while still holding the pin in...then release the pin a couple seconds after seeing the first boot screen.. I just wanted to get that out of the way first.

I don't see why the SD card should matter. recovery will be there no matter what.

also if you have root, you could try a reboot app that allows to reboot into recovery. I know finless Bob packs one into system/app on his Rom and tweaks. maybe pull it from there and put it into system/app and change permissions to 644 with a root explorer

I just flashed the Minix ROM clean. It's there!
Then installed my tweaker, it's there!

WTF

Maybe you guys got some 002Beta earlier than I did and it has changed? I suggest maybe re-downloading it. I downloaded my copy 2 days ago not right away.
