Minix Neo X8/X8-H Stock BETA 4 in flashable ZIP format

OK folks. Minix is releasing their ROMs as flashable images using the AML flash tool.

Unfortunately Windows 8.1 users have problems getting the drivers installed and the flash tool working.
I don't have Windows 8 so cannot test why the drivers are a problem.

But.... here is the stock ROM in ZIP update format.

This is the Minix X8 BETA 004 - 7/1 ROM just released.


NOTE: THIS WILL ERASE YOUR DEVICE! So backup anything you want to keep!
Minix is not releasing ZIP updates only flash tool updates. The flash tool erases the box!
There is a reason for this.
Major updates it is much better to erase as you don't know what junk is left from previous ROM that can cause problems! As people saw on an update that did not erase, things were not right like a missing stock browser, etc.

Click on rewind(30 seconds) and see if that improves Netflix playback?

Second, my little question: How can I backup/preserve XBMC settings/addons when updating with this ROM and with Finless ROM tweaker?

Tested with root and self made "816/1992 interactive"

NFS:
Works (via init script (init.d does not exist)) BUT XBMC doesn't recognise added folders at the server (also not via go back and return to the nfs-root) only restart the device fix the missing folder (ES not tested, because I think there is something missing at the protokoll (at rk3188 with wasser-fw it recognise changes at server))...

- With all available "Hardware accelerated" = on (amcodec, libstagefright and MediaCodec) it stutters every few seconds
- With only amcodec = on, it stutters every few seconds
- With only libstagefright = on, system directly reboots

So just put your init scripts in /etc/init

Why they changed this industry standard folder name is beyond me.

Maybe it is in /etc/ but because of:

service sysinit /system/bin/logwrapper /system/xbin/busybox run-parts /system/etc/init

at init.rc it must be in /system/etc/ and that does not exist at my beta4
(BTW: and if I create the /system/etc/init and place my script, it works )
