    Pipo M9 Pro RileyROM 3.3 KitKat 4.4.2

Today, I updated my M7 Pro ROM with an official Pipo firmware dated 6.18.14. Since these tablets are so alike, each time I get an update for one or the other...I just make a new ROM for both. Since the M7 Pro and M9 Pro use different kernels, I usually put the most recent kernel from the other tablet. So this time, you have a fresh ROM with Kernel 407 from the 3.0.1 ROM.

If you want to use the custom kernels by cshock2010, they are HERE

I've been running this ROM on my M7 Pro all day, and it seems pretty smooth...but I don't have a change log to tell what they did different.

If you read in the 3.0 thread that I was looking at a ROM with 4.4.4...that IS NOT THIS ROM. I really doubt I will pursue 4.4.4 right now. First of all, it isn't MY work...it's someone else's.

Please follow all of the KK flashing precautions I've posted EVERYWHERE in this section.

    This ROM is:

    Rooted
    Debloated
    Init.d/Busybox support
User app space options from 1 to 12gb (4gb default)
Auto Install available (as with my other ROM's)
TWRP Recovery by Abdul_pt...installed after first boot
    Google Play Store fixes
All of the typical RileyROM features

    Reboot app by Petrus
    Flash Tool by Finless
    Boot animation by me

    Download

    Enjoy!!!!!!!!!

I'm running it at the moment. But after the restore of my backup, the screen responce is slugish. It feels like slomo when moving something. I didn't change settings or kernel, just an install with the 6Gb parameter. After that, a titanium restore from my apps. Problem after restore and reboot was that the google playstore and gmail stopped working. So I shutdown for 5mins. After the restart, play was functioning again, and Gmail after an update to.

So only problem remaining on this moment is the slomo screen. If I can't resolve it, I will reinstall the whole image one more time to see if the problem exists also in the bare image. If not, I will try a different kind of restoring my apps.

Thanks for the report. Until now, every firmware has been good on both the M7 Pro and the M9 Pro. There may be some changes this time that don't work on the M9 Pro.

Worst case...you can go back to 3.0.1 with kernel 407.

Everything works 'fine' for me, I've restored my apps using TB and all seems ok for now, except the fact that I had 3 reboots in less than half an hour, that's a little bit anoying.
Did you Riley mod the kernel or is it stock ?

The kernel in the kit is stock.

Nothing. I keep having the same problem at random times. It works and than during the start of an app, reboot.

I had very similar issues with 3.01 ROM. I went back to a 3.0 ROM, I had saved and it has been rock solid.
The 3.01 was very rebooty....and once got red hot...which was scary....Now over two weeks on 3.0 and stable , not one reboot or hang....

I've read all the feedback on reboots! Strangely enough, I've had none. In fact I am getting far better battery life whilst on 3G. Previously I was using at least 10% per hour. Last night I was on 3g for almost 4 hours and used only 15%.
                      Regards

As I've said many times, results vary on each ROM.

While we are all talking about the same brand/model tablet...there are sometimes production variations which cause problems for some people. All it takes is a bad solder connection, or a chip that doesn't behave the way it's supposed to...and you get reboots.

If a different ROM makes your tablet run better, I always suggest running that works for you...not necessarily the latest ROM.

Usually people encounter problems running patched kernels...there are lucky tablets and unlucky tablets.

Strange isn't it. Some people have no problems with some ROMs, while others have problems that make the tablet virtually unusable.

It would be nice to know if they had a glitch develop during their download, or is it the inconsistent quality of the hardware.
So far I've never had a problem with RileyROMs or Finless ROMs. But I admit that I usually let the dust settle a bit before jumping into a new ROM.

Are you using the kernel that Randy packed with the ROM?
                              Enjoy your drink.
