Please tell Can I just replace the TASS.rle (made from .png) file inside ramdisk folder inside BOOT-EXTRACTED folder in kitchen directory and then pack it and flash with ROM Flash Tool that You provide?

You are talking about a totally different ROM architecture here. RK29 and RK30 boot.img is NOT EVEN like what your asking! There is NO TASS.rle file and there is NO Ramdisk in boot.img. Again this is other ROM architectures not RK ROM architecture! AND NO.... any kitchen out there I know about will not work with RK boot.img architecures!

So again.... you need to be linux and you need to learn how to take apart and repack a RK ROM boot.img.

Again.... you need to be more than just a ROM flasher kind of guy to do this. What your asking does not even relate to RK ROMs.

By the way be careful using ROM Toolbox or other tools with RK ROMs. If it hoses your loader or parameter file, you can be permanently bricked and NEVER be able to get into flash mode again to unbrick! You have been warned my friend.....

Just a little info

Were you able to complete Antutu with kernel 338?

On 1.5 it was 6063 first run, and with other apps installed.(I did not run it a second time)

On 1.5a it was 7526 first run, and with apps installed.
Second run on 1.5a was 8045

This was with kernel #338?
Realize by deafult my ROM flash tool is kernel #485. So to get #338 you have to change it....

Yeah. Had 485...Then my "touch sounds" broke.?. So I reflashed (erased idb) used kernel 338. It fixed my touch sounds.

Installed my apps and ran the test, and those were my results.

Interesting... I will play with this a little. Every time I ran Antutu I started with kernel 485 and ONLY reflashed kernel 338 and it would not finish.

Yes I did a full erase. I figured it would fix my "no touch sound" problem. Used 338 just to see if there was a difference.

YET...when I flash the stock ROM system.img and kernel #338 it works!

UPDATE August 12, 2012.

Thanks to FreakTab user Alunet for pointing out slower benchmarks on my 1.5 ROM. It turns out making the battery icon more aggressive takes away a lot of performance! Thus I have balanced it. The power off while charging menu fix is still in!

This new ROM is 1.5a

OK so how to update to 1.5a?
1) If you are NOT on 1.5, then just use the link below and download the full 1.5a ROM and flash it per my instructions in the README included with the ROM kit.

2) If you are already on ROM 1.5 then use this link and download the CWM patch. This is super simple and fast! No flash tools needed! I have included instructions in the patch zip file. PLEASE READ and follow them to patch 1.5 to 1.5a.

ROM -> Finless ROM V1.5 to 1.5a CWM patcher (1 meg)

OK folks my 1.5 ROM is ready! I have tested the hell out of it so I am NOT going to call this a beta test this time!
It's a release but as always I expect possible changes later.

READ THE README.TXT FILE IN THE ROM KIT PLEASE!

This ROM has options to you so if you do not read the instructions, you may miss out!


Fixes added over stock ROM or my previous 1.4 ROM:
1) I fixed the Wifi DHCP timout some people are getting on slow hot spots.
2) I added support for connecting to ADHOC wifi hot spots.
3) I fixed the power button issue when charging.
Now when you hold the power button you get the shut down dialog properly instead of hard resetting!
However, if the charger is hooked up, on power off it will just boot back up. Thats OK
Now quickly hold the power button and power it off before it boots back up.
4) I think I fixed the battery update icon problem some people have. Not sure though.
I do not have this problem so I cant really tell. It seems bettery to me.
5) Update to the Market files! Now you get full market like google chrome ,etc!
6) I added support for Gameloft games. It seems to help some of them but not all.
7) Fixed my clockwork mod to fully support sd-ext partitioning and link2sd support.
8) App Injector bugs and reboot.apk have been updated to the latest versions.
9) Flash Player fix (use APP injector is flash is NOT pre-installed).
10) I fixed the flash tool so now you can flash parts of a ROM without errors!
This means you can flash different kernels for instance to try them without erasing user data!


Features in 1.5 ROM:
1) FULL init.d support! Now Scripts put in /etc/init.d will now run on boot.
This means you can now play with the V6 Super Charger stuff, etc

Note: you do not need to use V6 init.rc integration! You cant anyway.
But it is not needed for V6 since full init.d works.

2) Of course full init.d means full BusyBox install with all needed SYMlinks!

3) This has my ClockWork recovery Mod installed. If you do not want to use it DONT.
On first boot just select reboot now and be done with it!
It will not get in your way again if you do not want it!
Included is Petrus reboot tool which allows you to reboot into recovery from the OS.

Other APPs like Titanium will also reboot into recovery so if you dont want the reboot APP, you can remove it.

4) I have adjusted the parameter file for more app space! You now have a choice! 2GB or 4GB.
Read instructions below for how to choose which in the flash tool you want.
By default I set up the tool for 2GB app space.

5) I have analyzed all the available ROMs and the 3 known kernels. You have a choice in this ROM kit.
Kernel 338 (known to unstick broken touch screens), 454, and 485.
By default the tool is setup to use kernel 485. Again see instructions below for choosing

6) Since /system is now RW, I have increased it's free space to allow rooted and system apps.

7) Installed the latest working SU and SuperUser.apk

8) Updated busybox to 1.19.x (1.20.x has bugs in my opinion) aqnd full busybox install with symlinks.

9) Debloated the ROM of the junk APPs. I also removed the Chinese and Japanese keyboards.
However in the ROM kit is APP Injector. Use that to put back what you want.

OK enough of all that.... here is the download for my 1.5 ROM.

1.5 seems to have started my wifi again

I'm still in a state of shock that someone as technically inept as myself managed to flash my tab.

The 1.4 versions installed, but my wifi remained absent.

Now, the wifi is back. It's still a bit wobbly, but 95% of the time, I can get access to my wifi. I'm guessing my tab's aerial isn't very good, but none the less, this is a gigantic improvement. I've got my tab back. So thanks a million.
