Realize this... if you have the new Model 2 N101 the charger must be 12V output.

Be careful! I do not think it is a good idea to use a 12V charger on the N101-1 model! That takes a 5V output charger. The 5V charger for the N101-1 will wake up and make the N101-2 model react as if a charger is plugged in. But the N101-2 will not charge! It will only see it as a charger is plugged in. Plugging in the 12V ouptut sharger to a N101-1 may damage it!

Charger for N101

I bought this charger from **** UK but it just won't charge my tablet (N101-1, although the tablet does show the 'charging' icon so it clearly knows something is plugged in).

I tested the output at a steady 5.31V whereas the charger that came with the tablet (from Elijah) is a steady 5.16V. Could 5.31V be too high for the tablet's inbuilt voltage protection?

Damn. Seems like GBP 9.20 down the pan

Anyone else had any joy with this model of charger (or ones that output at around the same voltage)?

Hi all, just joined the site. I was not aware that there was a forum for our tablet! I am over the moon : ) My N101 arrived from a UK seller with Bobs wonderful ROM on Friday, its never been out of my hands since. I have bought the same charger from ****. It will arrive tomorrow, will let you know how it works out.

Guys a couple of quick questions, is it a common problem that there is no clicking when using the keyboard? Also a it of a battery drain, but I can live it for the moment. Bob, you have made an excellent ROM.

Hi Damo, thanks for the quick reply, I have the box ticked in settings but there is still no clicks when I type when using the keyboard. Its no big deal, just makes typings a bit easier as I know I have hit the key. Mate, is there cwm for this tablet? very impressed with it so far, a bit of a battery drain, but I am sure it will get sorted out. Are they using nvflash or cwm to flash the tablet?

Yes Cwm is built into the Rom. Make sure you have the latest Rom on your tablet though if it came pre installed.

Your keyboard should make the click sound there must be one of your volumes in the main settings turned down. As for battery drain this is discussed in the Yuandao forum so have a read through.

Check your Rom version to make sure you have the latest 1.6 Rom

Thanks again Damo, checked the volume setings, all are fine, it clicks when I select in a tab in settings, but nada when I type. a bit strange but no biggie mate. I am using ver Finless 1.6 with the 4th Aug Kernal. Will give the post that you sent me a good read. What is the procedure for getting in to cwm?

Again, I am most grateful for your pointers. I have ben using an Advent Vega and have been flashing and installing Roms for a while, I was sad to leave the Advent as I thought my days of flashimg and tweaking were over, but I have now found thisnforum, I am made up.

I have tried 2x UK three pin adapters for the supplied two pin charger AND 3x 5V 2A chargers; my most recent is the one linked above.
Is there anything else I can try or have I received a dud tab; was wondering if my tab had just gone into deep sleep and I was missing something obvious.

This may seem very obvious... but 5v ??

My (dead after 10 minutes) charger clearly says 9v 2000ma (2a)

So why are you trying a 5v charger?

The Yuandao N101 original does only use a 5v charger so plugging anything above that is not recommended unless you want to fry your tablet hardware!

The ampage can go a little either way but not the voltage

Weirdly the v2 of the tablet has a 9v charger and says "input 12v" at the back of the tablet itself! Perhaps why the 9v charger supplied went "POP"!

My tablet is buggered, no microphone audio, skype switches my image and the image of the person Im speaking to (so they are small and I am big on MY tablet!) And now my power supply died, all this on day1.

Hmmm...

It is the suppliers that usualy put the travel chargers in the box not the manufacturer so maybe where you got it from has put the wrong charger in the box.

Charger from ****

Hi all, I received the charger from ****. Very quick delivery from the supplier. The charger appears to be charging the N101 tablet. The power levels are increasing and the battery indicator is rising.

However, when the power supply is attached to the tablet and it is being used, the screen becomes unstable. for example, if you touch an application, a different app opens. I have called the supplier but not yet made contact with him.

Will keep you posted.

I think this is more the tab than the charger, this is endemic on the cube u30gt.
