I'm supposed to be watching AGT with the mrs, but have been testing the new firmware sitting on the couch :P
Anyway, so far I have noticed that it's OK. Battery is draining (reported) at around 1% per minute! However this is more likely due to it have no idea what's the correct level.
IMO so far I would say that it's hard to say which kernel is better, will keep testing and report back.

There is a thread somewhere on the official Yuandao forums which links to that exact same firmware. Also the N101 II models are now being shipped with the same firmware as BobtheBean has provided.

Been using this ROM now for a day or so.
Battery life seems about the same as the older version - usage time of around 11-12 hours and standby drain of maybe 1% per 2 hours.
Speed again is more or less about the same but I think the old version was a little more responsive.
Screen - not sure if this is hardware based or firmware. Using apps like Antutu Tester it sees 10 fingers on the screen, however its almost as they it 'disconnects' some of the fingers when you move them around in circles. I compared it to the older N101 and it doesn't happen on that one.
Playing games like Mass Effect means it's jittery when using the right thumb to look around. NOVA 3 seems to be OK. Again, not sure if this is a hardware or software issue. If it is hardware then it looks like the WHOLE batch of N101 II's is faulty...which considering the time they took to fix other faults/improve the tablet seems unlikely.
On a different note this firmware fixed the stuck pixel I had
Overall I would say this kernel offers no real upgrade over the older version and infact this firmware is a little subpar.Comment

Hmm it seems that either this firmware has killed the ability for the tablet to charge or the charging part of the tablet has just died. Either way plugging it in does nothing, tested 2 different adaptors
It might be charging but there is no symbol and battery widget pro shows nothing.
