    Does this look like the Pipo P1 original USB cable?

    There are markings on the cable

          Windows 8.1

          Hello,

          I started to use windows 8.1 to flash the tablet. I press erase idb 3 times, then flash, and it works. If I only try to erase once or twice, it doesn't work.

            After clicking Erase IDB button, nothing happens. It only says that "Reset Device Start" and "Reset Device Fail". These entries are logged:
            19:13:50 489 Error:RKU_Open-->CreateFile failed,err=2,path=\\?\USB#VID_2207&PID_320A#6&3B06 9A8E&0&1#{a5dcbf10-6530-11d2-901f-00c04fb951ed}
            19:13:50 489 <LAYER 2-1-1> ERROR:LowerFormatDevice-->RKU_TestDeviceReady failed,subCode(0xfd),RetCode(-1)

            I have Windows 8.1 x64 and I have installed Rockship USB drivers. Is there anything to do to fix this?.

              I managed to fix this. Open Control panel -> Device manager and uninstall every rockship devices. Also uninstall any hidden rockship devices.

                I installed the driver, manually by right clicking on the inf file. and selecting install. Had no issues.

                  I tried that also, but it didn't help. I have had couple of other Pipi tablets, so maybe there was some driver conflict.

                    I finally succeeded in flashing Riley 1.2 ROM. I found the newer RKBatchTool 1.8 (I was using 1.7). I put the tablet to flash mode (volume up+power button), opened Device Manager, uninstalled the device, reinstalled it using the driver from 1.8. I was able to do Erase IDB and moved on to flashing Riley 1.2 ROM. Very happy now.

                      OK...don't get too carried away with setting up your tablet because I have a new ROM.

                      Here is v1.3 from a firmware dated 8/4/14.

                      Here's the wifi version:

                      Download

                      Here's the 3G version:

                      Download

                      The parameter files work this time. There was no change log with this new firmware, so I'm testing to see if GPS works. It shows GPS is on...and it's grabbing some satellites...so fingers crossed.
