The rom is now available is M6 max thread. My model is not a 3g one, so I don't know if 3g is working.

I have picked up a broken M9 Max that boots occassionally and I've just bought an M6 Pro.

Hello everyone, I have a Pipo S1 Pro with Android 4.2.2 and I wonder if the these sources bring any possibility for a custom kernel for this tablet, someone from a different forum tried to do it with old sources but he could not make the touchscreen work, maybe there are at least some useful files within these sources as they are for Pipo tablets. I am willing to be the "guinea pig" for this, here is my dmesg from a fresh boot.
        Thanks in advance.

hi, what examples of real world enhancement would you expect from a custom kernel ?

            Comment

Sorry, I did not want to post a nonsense request like that, I was just wondering if these sources contain some leftovers from past rk3188 Pipo tablets that could lead to a customized kernel or even a kitkat rom for my old S1 Pro. A customized kernel with 60 hz fix (58 hz now), higher volume, better battery management, unlocked GPU/DDR frequencies, or just higher stability, but if it's not possible or is not worth it no problem, I am using a rileyrom on it right now and it's ok overall. Thank you all for your replies.

Maybe Randy could cook a kitkat 4.4.4 rom for your device, it is possible that we have at hand all the required files for that...

The sources we received were from the 4.4.2 SDK for the M8HD and M7Pro. So far we have an M8HD, M6Pro, and an almost working M7Pro and M9Pro ROM.

The object of the project was to fix some leftover problems that Pipo didn't fix before they quit supporting the device. I'm not sure whether we can make an S1 Pro ROM from these sources since the internal parts between all of these devices are too different.

my suggestion is extract kernel from s1 firmware and try to mix it with a 4.4 android compiled for say m6 pro or m8hd

The current S1 Pro firmware is Jelly Bean so not possible. We'd need to create a custom kernel using the current sources we have. Not impossible but highly unlikely without a test device.

I now have received a brand new M6Pro for testing. It's charging in my kitchen as I pack to head off to Sweden. I may get chance to 'play' with it over the coming weekend and move the multi-kernel sources on a bit. I assume it has GPs (my M8HD doesn't)

I got a few minutes this morning and was able to quickly test and see where the problems were. I have published a test kernel for M6 Pro users.

It is soooooooooooooo much easier when you have the actual tablet! It took less than 30 minutes to get this one sorted!

Battery arrived for the M9 Max this morning. I got some help from DNKN last night and the M9 Max is now added to the list of finished kernels!

                              M7 Pro is now finished.

Full list of current kernels you can build from the multi-kernel repo is:

                              Pipo M6 Pro, M7 Pro, M8 HD, M9 Pro, M9 Max,
                              Cube U30GT2

I've asked Slowry to provide his config/board source to amalgamate the M6 Max too
