    2. Unzip the kit on your desktop, or wherever you downloaded it.
    3. Open the AndroidTool.exe
    4. With your tablet turned on, with USB debugging turned off (in settings), plug in the USB cable. Be sure to always use the USB cable that came with the tablet.
    5. Make sure the USB drivers are installed for the Rockchip device. (see the First Time User's Guide for details, if you are having trouble)
    6. You should see the tablet recognized by "Found One MSC Device" in the bottom of the tool.

    8. Click "LowerFormat". It will count to 100% (very quickly).
    9. Click "Run".
    10. When the flash is finished, the tablet will boot into stock recovery and will format your partitions.
    11. First boot will take a little longer than usual...just be patient and watch the boot animation.

      Sv: Pipo P1 RileyROM 1.5 (RK3288)

      Thanks!
I will test this ROM tomorrow.

EDIT: ...finally at my Windows PC ...and it's downloading the ROM!

      ...and now successfully flashed.

I will start to test now.

      Thanks again!

P.S. Just want to share this finding but it has nothing to do with the ROM itself. It just how I'm too eager to start things ...like a child. Let me explain ...I downloaded and extracted the zip on my local PC's Google Drive folder. Then started the Run process while the files still was being synced to Google Drive cloud. Especially system.img is big and takes some time to sync, so the process stopped for me. It doesn't matter that the files a locally on my PC. It's somehow locked during the sync with Google Drive cloud. I can see on the file icon that the sync is in process and when the sync is fully completed.
Once fully synced between local and cloud drive, the flash process worked fine.

            Many thanks Randy.
Could you also include the ZIP-Template so we can use the new'n'funky TWRP to flash the ROM without a full wipe ?
I won't complain if something won't work -- then I will just do it the "normal" way with Erase IDB etc.
Just hate to make hundreds of things to set it all up the way I want it... Titanium Backup beeing only a small (and quick) part of it...

unsuccesfull rom ver 1.5 flashing on pipo p1

              Hello,
I tried to flash my PIPO P1 with the new ROM ver 1.5.It went according to the cook book till point 9.
After clicking RUN, the message was "loader failed..." and my screen remained dark. Also the message on the
bottom of the screen was "No found any devices". No I have a dead tablet. What can be done?
              Regards Eduard.

Good news. After a while, tablet from death state, recovered to "normal" mode. It looks
              as nothing was done.

ekovacic -- are you sure you have installed the drivers properly ?
For me it looks like your device is still in bootloader mode.

If that's the case then unplug the device, hold the power button for a longer time (10-15 sec) and your device should turn on.

Then redo the procedure of driver installation. In bootloader mode it must detect your device else the drivers aren't properly installed (and Erasing IDB will fail anyway due to no device detected).

unsuccesfull rom ver 1.5 flashing on pipo p1

                  Hello,
at point 6. AndroidTool showed "Found one MSC Device". Then I continued with clicking
Switch button. LowerFormat showed 100%. Just after clicking "Run" button, there was a
message with "...Loader failed...". My tablet looked dead. Then I booted into recovery mode and
                  after some time tablet recovered.

ekovacic - bricking the tablet is quite hard. Good to hear that yours recovered.

Try to switch it again via the tool, but don't press Erase IDB this time... and check if the flash tool will recognize your device (Found loader etc.) . If not it means that the driver is not properly installed (Found MSC device doesn't matter).
To switch it on from the bootloader mode just disconnect the cable and hold down the power button for a longer time (10-15 sec).

unsuccesfull rom ver 1.5 flashing on pipo p1

                      prEzi hello,

i tried again with AndroidTool (before I reinstalled the USB drivers (win7 64)). It went Ok after
clicking RUN - last good message was "Reset Device start - Reset Device success". After that came
the message "Wait for Loader start - Wait for Loader failed" and at the screen bottom again "NO Found
any Devices" . USB drivers I installed from the Riley ROM package.

One thing more: "don't press Erase IDB this time" - I do not see anything like that
                      in AndroidTool window.

You need to investigate -- during the 1-2 second time after the tablet restarts to black screen you should be prepared and have already the device manager open and ready. The tool you can just hide.
In that short period of time an unknown device should pop up in the device manager. You should doubleclick on it so it won't disappear.
Afterwards you need to point it out to the driver (rockusb.inf for Win7 x64) -- or you can also try it with the driver assistant...

To put it short -- without a working loader driver you won't be able to flash the device with the tool.

yes, I found this device (class for Rockusb devices - rockusb device, and the reason for failure:
windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged (code 19).
I tried the same procedure on another computer (win8 64) and everything went without problems.
So, my PIPO P1 is flashed and now I will test it. Thank you for your kind help. Regards Eduard.

I would be very careful mixing kernels with other ROMs unless they've been tested to work.

The P4 firmware is 4.4.4 and the P1 firmware is 4.4.2...so the kernel sources are different and may not be compatible with one another.

Have you clicked the reset button on the back of the tablet with a paper clip? That turns the tablet off.

To get into flash mode manually, I think it's holding down vol+ while pressing power when connected to USB. The problem you are having is that the tablet is stuck in a different mode somehow.

If that doesn't work, you may have bricked the tablet. You might have to remove the cover and short some pins on the NAND chip in order to get into mask mode so you can flash the correct ROM. That's a last resort, though. I haven't unbricked one of these 3288's yet....and I hope I never have to.
