Tronsmart have announced the changelog for the next official 109k4 ROM

Change LOG:

1.Fix stutter when playing 4k videos;

2.Improve AVR compatible;

3.Improve IR remote short/long press function and others;

4.Update xbmc to Kodi14.0 Beta3;

5.Fix Async for Google Calendar/People;

6.Improve Browser compatible;

7.Add Power LED hint(V3.0 PCBA);

8. Improve HDMI compatible and support HDMI2.0;

9.Improve WifiDisplay;

10.Keep on OTG connection when powering on;

11.Add SW/HW keyboard option;

12.Hide Status Bar defaultly;

13.Fix issue of Pink Screen on some TVs;

14.Other little tweaking;


Some of this was covered in the recent 109k4 update but will soon all be incorporated into the official stock ROM.

Update: It may well be that if you had already installed the minor 109k4 update released a while ago to fix pink screen issues, an OTA may not work as Tronsmart may have done what I advised them not to do and kept the same revision number for the official release, which may not trigger the OTA function.

Waiting for confirmation of this.

Very good update! No more hdmi sound issue with new update
Screen saver function still not operational... no nfs available... but very good rom considering development begin.

It still has the 2Gb App space, so I modified mine to enlarge it to around 8.

I created a quick and dirty document to show how I did it in case anybody is interested and it has been used by another user with success.

A developer really needs to look at ANY new IMG to see what it is doing before you can say it can be flashed from recovery.

Installed R89/R28 110K4109_1016

I modded it a little first to have an 8Gb partition, added a few usr apps and removed the chinese game.

Nice little wizard at the start to select language and connect to WiFi.

New settings for the display all seem to work.

The bundled modded XBMC didn't show anywhere but installed it manually.

Now restoring apps and data ready for some real testing.

Update: All works well, just as before except for the modded XBMC.

It crashes during playback of the 4k Eulsat video, then resulting in random crashes with a few videos until closed and restarted. and overall is less smooth than recent nightly builds.

Lots of micro stutter.

The one thing that was smoother was the 1080p Tears of steel, where the audio sync was also less prominent.

It doesn't matter what on/off combinations of mediacodec and libstagefright I use, this version of XBMC, for me, is a retrograde step and am going back to nightly builds.

Bluebox security scanner is still showing the FakeID vulnerability as not being patched, so had to do this via Xposed installer.

Default storage medium when connected to a PC is still MTP, when I am guessing that most would prefer Mass storage device.

Bricked R28 Pro?

Hi all!
A couple of weeks ago I updated my R28 Pro with latest firmware (110k4109) from Tronsmart. I used the easy method by putting update.img on my memory card and reboot. It work nicely after that but a few days ago when my son was watching Netflix it suddenly stopped working. The only thing I could se is the Tronsmart logo when rebooting. I tried to flash the firmware with Androidtool, ROM Flash Tool and Factory tool. They all seemed to work but I only get to Tronsmart logo When Rebooting. Also tried mask rom mode and Finless rom with the same result (Google TV logo).
What am I doing wrong.
Any help regarding this issue will be greatly appreciated!

Try to boot to recovery (Toothpick at a/v but NO otg) and do a wipe/factory reset...

Tried it but it will not go into recovery. Only Tronsmart logo.

What I'm wondering in is if you will still get also the Tronsmart logo after flashing my rom dump?
If yes, I think this could only means that the bootloader isn't flashed to the version at my rom dump and so it seems to be a problem with the actual flashed bootloader... ????
