That's a common complaint about the T9 at the moment. It has been reported to Pipo.

    Sent from my P9

    Hi,

thanks guys, but i got my imei back with mtk droid tools. I was lucky that i wrote it down on a piece of paper, so it was easy for me with mtrk droid tools. Everything works perfect, sim card works, mobile internet flat in use

Now i only have one problem left with this rom:

My camera generally does not work. If i start the cam there´s always an error like "device not ready".

Here is another way to restore your IMEI. It works on the iFive Mini 3GS...so it should work on the T9.

Hi friends and spice mi 500 owners! As local devices like mi 500 don't have a separate section for them on xda, here's a specific thread for our mi 500 where you can share everything related to the phone: ROMs, recoveries, themes, games you can...

i did not have sim card installed, but i read somewhere that was not working on KK rom ...since google remove the ability to play with imei so easy
    i dont know more, anyway...

anyway is better to use one method that fix the problem for good instead temp fix
if you give/resell your tablet and the guy wipe/factory the device will loose imei again ... not fun at all if he/she know nothing abt teaking Mtk device ...

    1) this method dosent work on kk rom, allready try on pipo T9, u can go on engineer mode, but the imei option is removed (CDS Information option), i guess since KK rom ...
    2) not permanent ...

Sadly i just saw the post of the imei problems. I just wrote my imei number on a piece of paper an thought i could paste it manually. But that didn´t work.

    So i tried this version:

Here i get the file but can´t copy it from my sd card to the folder. Even with root explorer it doesn´t work.

    And with this version:

i get a timeout when i try do "download to flash"

So is there anything else i can do ? I rarely use the phone function, so i could live without the imei, but i would be sad if there would be nothing i can do about it.
u must retry, because, it happen to me 2 time the time out error, specially at the begining when i was trying this new method ist just a little bit tricky to use it, but if you are connected well on the tablet, you will not have time out error, believe me iv done it on 2 pipo T9 tablet and one MTK phone ....
and is the only method that your Imei will stay for good... even if you wipe/factory reset
all other method are not really reliable, and they are not permanent .. so forget them ...

try again an tell me if you succes, if not i can made a video for you or even assist you via team viewer or skype ... and i see you are in germany, and im in france ... so is should be easy

for me no more mtk device ... soo much pain for nothing .... i will resell my T9 and i just order teclast P90HD for 200$ ... omaaaaa im comming

Go into settings on your file explorer app. I use an app called Xplore. You need to set the app to full root permissions in order to copy a file into the system. Be sure to give the file full permissions rwx in all categories for it to work.

I'm not really sure that IMEI generator app is working correctly because the file size is way different than my original IMEI file.

The method of entering the code in MobileUncle doesn't work on my iFive Mini 3GS, but I think it's because I don't have a SIM card installed in it. The card I have to test won't fit into the slot on the tablet.

    It's from this page on XDA-Developers: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2269740 post #8

You will need to know your device's number to put. With devices with 2 SIM slots you will need both numbers.

If you don't have the numbers, you will need to generate new one(s). Here is an online tool for getting new numbers:

Once you generate a new file. Just place this file in this folder on your device: /data/nvram/md/NVRAM/NVD_IMEI/

Be sure to give this file full permissions RWX (777).

Here i get the file but can´t copy it from my sd card to the folder. Even with root explorer it doesn´t work.

here is the method for hardcode imei

    ____/\_____ MAUI META by MediaTek....
    .
finally managed to permanently fix the erasing problem of imei on flashing new ROM or factory resetting phone ....
    .
mobile uncle tools or... engineering mode temporarily fixes the imei problem by pasting what's known as "Soft Imei" and which tends to get erased on formatting or flashing new ROM .
    .
also in KitKat the security is so optimized that engineering mode doesn't accepts the imei
    .
now this method I'm sharing with you permanently fixes the problem of accidentally formatting NVRAM using sp tools.
    .
    Things you need
    .
    ..................
    MAUIMETA TOOLS : http://www.mediafire.com/download/79...NESIA+RAYA.rar
    ................
    DRIVERS
    CDC : http://www.mediafire.com/download/yx...CDC_driver.rar
(old driver, i did not use them)

    .................
    MTK65xx ADB VCOM Driver : http://www.mediafire.com/download/cy...OM+drivers.rar

    now follow these steps:
    1> install all necessary drivers.
    2> install MauiMeta software.
    3> turn off the phone/tablet.
4> open Maui software goto option and select " Connect Smart Phone Into A Meta Mode" and hit reconnect
5> connect the phone in off mode.
6> it will detect and then on upper left corner tab select "Write Imei" option a new window will open.
7> click on "Change Nvram Database File" and select BPLGUInfoCustomAppSrcP_MT6592_S00_MOLY_WR8_W1315_M D_WG_MP_V23_1_wg_n from orignal rom or ridleyrom
8> Now just write 14 digit imei imprinted on back of your phone and 15th digit will be automatically generated for both Sim's.
    9> Press download to Flash.
10> close that tab and hit disconnect.
    ......TaDa......
    problem solved....
now flash any ROM or factory reset it imei will be automatically recovered ...
i get a timeout when i try do "download to flash"

So is there anything else i can do ? I rarely use the phone function, so i could live without the imei, but i would be sad if there would be nothing i can do about it.

What you need is the userdata_nvram_only.tar file which is part of the complete firmware backup you get from MTKDroidTools, or you can just back this one file up using this tool. To backup/restore it, you start the MTKDroidTools. Plug in your tablet to USB in recovery mode. When the tool populates all of your tablet's information, click the IEMI/NVRAM button. You can backup and restore the NVRAM with this same tool.

I haven't had much luck adding IEMI numbers manually with this tool on my iFive Mini 3GS, but there is that function. I'm sure it works on some devices.

    Just one more question...

If choose "Format all" then i need to select PRELOADER also in SP Flash Tool or not ?

    Lame question sorry...

If choose "Format all" then it select everything
If unclick anything then it changed to "Download Only" automatically
