For those of you having IMEI problems, there is a tool available to generate the file you need.
It's from this page on XDA-Developers: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2269740 post #8
You will need to know your device's number to put. With devices with 2 SIM slots you will need both numbers.
If you don't have the numbers, you will need to generate new one(s). Here is an online tool for getting new numbers:
Once you generate a new file. Just place this file in this folder on your device: /data/nvram/md/NVRAM/NVD_IMEI/
Be sure to give this file full permissions RWX (777).

dam another problem
after a reboot now i have a warning message
System UIDs inconsistent
UIDs on the system are inconsistent, you need to wipe your data partition or your device will be unstable ...
i did try to install xposed ... and i just learn xposed is not friend with ART ...Last edited by spzjulien; 05 September 2014, 21:33.

There are often changes in the file system that bring new challenges.
On the app problem, go into developer settings and see if the default setting is ART or Dalvik. That makes a difference in that not all apps are compatible with ART yet. If so, switch back to Dalvik.
If you have not flashed this ROM yet, be sure to back up your NVRAM.bin with MTKDroidTool. I've included that tool in the ROM kit.
As I figure out more I will post.
Usually I.test these things first, but I unfortunately don't have a T9 to test on.
While the Rockchip devices are pretty consistent between flashing most devices, these MTKs each have some unique variations on how they respond to flashing custom ROMs.
i will answer myself :
Comparisons between Dalvik and ART on Android 4.4 have shown that the latter brings enhanced performance and battery efficiency, although ART wasn’t ready for prime time when KitKat was launched, so Google choose to make it available as an alternative to developers interested in trying it out. However, it appears that Google has further worked on the code, and will make it available as the default runtime to devices running a future version of Android.
i should say MTK device are pain in the ass, i did have lot of trouble with xiamomi red rice mtk device in the past ...
no more mtk device for meLast edited by spzjulien; 08 September 2014, 16:38.

but i did solve my imei problem
i backup the nvram.bin from My GirlFriend PIPO T9 with MtkDroidTools 2.5.3 5 (im lucky that we have 2 T9 at home)
and i inject it back to my T9 (corrupted nvram)
is working great but now i have the same GF T9 imei, wifi adress mac and bluetooth mac, but i did write back my original imei with MtkDroidTools 2.5.3
now i have to change my wifi and bluetooth mac adress .....
for all if you want flash this new kk rom you MUST backup your own nvram.bin/Tar using MtkDroidTools 2.5.3, then flash kk and restore your nvram backup after , it seem the only way .....
Ken if you want to fix your problem here is my nvram backup with imei 000000000
just flash nvram.bin then change your imei with your original imei (i hope your write it down on paper or something)
ps: i was able to change wifi/bluetooth mac adress by editing /data/nvram/APCFG/APRDEB/WIFI and /data/nvram/APCFG/APRDEB/BT_Addr file with HxD - Hexeditor, those files can be found in nvram.tar

Ken.
did you find a way to restore imei ?
i try with MTKdroidTools but no succes...
the best should be to backup Nvram.bin (or better, a full backup) with MTKdroidTools BEFORE flash instead of Mobileuncle MTK Tools method

Pipo T9 RileyROM 1.2 [KitKat]
This ROM is based on official Pipo firmware dated 8/28/14 for the T9 MTK Tablet.
This ROM introduces KitKat to the T9.
It is:
Rooted with SuperSU
Not much debloat was necessary on this ROM
init.d and busybox support
English as default language (full international support)
Multi-User activated
Your choice of 3 through 12gb user app space by selecting the desired EBR files
Auto install of apks in your external SD autoinstall folder
Tweaks added to improve the likelihood of being able to write to SD
CWM Recovery created with MTKDroidTool
1. Make sure you have a backup of your current apps and data (I use Titanium). Also backup your IMEI number with MobileUncle MTK tool. You must be rooted already to do this. Be sure you save all of these backups to your external SD, because the internal SD will be erased.
2. Open the flash tool.
3. Click the Scatter-loading button and browse to the scatter file in the RileyROM folder.
4. If you want to run CWM Recovery, browse to the CWM Recovery file in the RileyROM folder on the recovery line of the flash tool.
5. Select the desired EBR1 and EBR2 files for the user app space size you wish to create. They MUST MATCH.
6. Change the Download Only mode to "Format All - Download" mode. This is important because you are changing from Jellybean to KitKat.
7. Turn the tablet off.
8. Click the Download button.
9. Connect the USB to your tablet.
10. Watch the activity at the bottom of the screen.
11. A green X will appear indicating you are done with the download.
12. With the tablet off, hold the vol+ button and press power until the tablet powers up...you will go into recovery.
13. Using the volume buttons and the power button navigate through recovery and do a "wipe/factory reset".
14. Boot to system.
15. Your tablet will boot to KitKat. Wait a few minutes for any apps to appear in the app drawer that you've placed in the autoinstall folder. (Be careful not to over use the autoinstall feature. This is for just a few necessary apps like a terminal or file explorer app. You can add the main Titanium app to autoinstall, but the key app won't work this way.)
Download
Enjoy!!!!!!
