The talk 79 Octacore/ Cube 9x mini might hit stores in China the end of this month. Would it promise the same specs as the Talk 9x? Specwise, they look same.

Has anybody thought about giving it a try?

I like the look of this myself. Will be keeping an eye out for cube making the firmware available for download and will take a look at reworking the ROM.

my cube talk 79 u55gt-8c arrived today verry impressed!
Does any one know how to root it?

put the following .zip file on a microSD card (do not extract it!)
insert the microSD in the tablet
update.zip
switch on the tablet normally:

go on settings->system updates

follow on screen instructions

that's all.

Thanks but doesn't work. recovery says update is for u65gt not u55gt-8c

I supposed it could work because of the same brand and same SoC between your tablet and cube talk 9x....
Probably with some simple modifications of the files in the zip you can use it on your tablet...

Can someone write brief review about this tablet .....??? I am very interested in this one.....like the size and weight.....but dunno what to expect from battery ....4900mAh.......performance should be same like 9x but battery is halved......

New Firmware

Released on Cube in the last 2 hours... Enjoy. Interesting that Cube is increasingly adopting other ROM as the basis for theirs - MIUI for several tabs recently. This is labelled Funrom - not seen that before. Nothing obvious on Google either.

Getting this tablet next week

Hi guys.. I'm new to this forum as this is my first post. I'm planning to get this tablet next week because i kinda like the specs and size. Has anyone succeeded in rooting the device? . Can the recovery that came with the device do a full nandroid backup or is another cwm based recovery required. Thanks in advance for your replies
