ok defenitly a 2gb version with ap6330 chipset, although after playing with the firmware on m8 could not get it to run.
plus second of all because you have extra features finless will not run on it, i could be wrong but certian it won't.
maybe if there is enugh people with them or you donate to finless he maybe able to port rom over but without box on hand he would be working blind.

Hi, I am finless Bob.
I have not been following this new M8 box thread so I am not up to speed on what it is, who makes it, etc etc.... Is a stock ROM available? What's wrong with the stock firmware? etc.
If you want to send me a box, PM me and I will send my address. In this case I prefer getting a box rather than a donation as I don't have time really to spend ordering it, etc. Don't even know where to order it from

New M8 in metal case
I have one of these also - latest firmware (2.2.3) M8_k200b_20140822_v2.2.3. Mine is a 2Gb box.
Have not tested much but early impressions are dissapointing - worst WiFi connectivity I have ever seen on an Android TV box with ext antenna.
The new M8 = about 4-5Mbps using WiFi (2.4Ghz & 5Ghz) & about 12Mbps using ethernet
Old M8 in plastic box - 5Ghz 25.65Mbps & 2,4Ghz 14.8 Mbps Ethernet 27.72Mbps
My S82B on WiFi = 23Mbps (internal antenna)
My MX g81ref clone running Matricom 1.1.6 with ext USB WiFi antenna = 45Mbs with Speedtest
About 9-10 without ext antenna
MX g81ref clone running OpenElec v4.0.7 gives 22Mbps on ethernet & about 5Mbps on WiFi with Speedtest. (internal antenna)
I am on a 60Mbps Virgin fibre connection - my iMac, MBP, Win7 box & Galaxy Note 3 all get about 62Mbps with Speedtest.
Other than the poor connectivity it seems OK.
Is there a version of TWRP or CWM that will work with this box?Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever

Could anyone who owns one of these new M8 style boxes comment on the heat/stability of these boxes - I would be hoping having a nice metal case this could only help with cooling?
Does the M8 still get hot but stable or is the temperature kept in check at a lower level.
Also noticed from the internal pictures, there doesn't seem to be any battery backup realtime clock, so what is displayed in standby - still the clock? And can the box be turned off by the remote?
Finally, who is the UK seller that UK owners have bought from?
Any/all answers would be gratefully appreciated.

Originally posted by stuartj9 View PostIt's really good but wifi is extremely poor. Maybe needs some better firmware. IMO, M8 seems the most popular and best supported in terms of firmware. T8 feels better having a metal case. This is the box to watch - with updated firmware could be excellent - altho the digital display is waste of time - all it does is say "Boot Up" when booting & show time when on. I have a watch that does that
