I have tried this new version of Kodi.
When i try to play a film stored on my external sd card it plays fine, dolby digital 6 channels
when played with the video player build into the Ugoos UT3.
When i try to play the same film in Kodi with multi channel options ticked it only plays the film in stereo mode , says stereo on the front of my denon av amplifier.
Any idea what i am doing wrong ?
No matter what version of xbmc or kodi i use its the same outcome.
    Thanks.

Tearsofsteel 1080p has the half green screen that the last one did.

Many other videos are juddery, regardless of which option is enabled/disabled.
Tearsofsteel - Plays perfect on my end, no green screen, no dropped frames, only audio is slightly out of sync.
Do you have Mediacodec only selected in hardware acceleration?

Also what device, firmware do you use?
What is displayed when you press 'o' on keyboard, amc-hevc, rkstf or ffmpeg?
Maybe your manufacturer still ships old firmware without openmax improvements for video.
No problems on RK3288 HPH NT-V6, firmware V1.3.11_141011

Yes I tried first with mediacodec only.

I'm using a Tronsmart Orion R28 Meta with the latest 109k4 firmware.

I'll check what is displayed a little later when I can test again.

        Update: amc-hevc is displayed.

          The same for me.
You better ask Tronsmart for updated firmware, it doesn't look like their firmware is as good as other manufacturers.

Thanks for the confirmation of findings.

I have informed them of the requirement.

Hi, I'm going to do some XBMC testing with ZERO Devices Z5C Thinko.

Please, help me choosing some videos and the last APP

              Thanks!

PD: After two days I'm going to have a meeting with Allwinner tech people, I'm also interested about XBMC with A80 SoC

                You can try this video.
                http://trailers.divx.com/hevc/TearsO...42.29_HM11.mkv (link suggested by bluesmanuk)
Plays perfect on HPH device with latest firmware.
If it doesn't work on 'Zero' device, than it's a firmware issue.
Test with Mediacodec on and Libstagefright off.
720/1080p should work with Libstagefright or Mediacodec turned on, only one at a time.

                Then you can test these
                http://box.houkouonchi.jp/4k/ (link suggested byTitoXx)
Should be very slow with Libstagefright, but good with Mediacodec.

                Kodi
http://www.mediafire.com/download/9iq09l1p8hvmhdh (from Beelink) I have my own link but it downloads slower.

Is it possible we can make a "standard test"?

Later all us could download exactly same videos, tools... and compare different devices in same conditions.

Maybe we can put all together and upload packages like:

                  - video testing
                  - benchmaks
                  - communications
                  - full package

Like that we can have a big "database" with models and performances for each ROM tested

                    Hi

The list that Mo123 has given should pretty much provide all that can show up any issues.

I have others but they are generally of the same ilk.

The A80 does seem to have potential to take on the RK3288 and will be following it's introduction with great interest.

It's a reasonable suggestion although with regards to what apps we test with, there may be many different opinions.

Maybe someone can make a spreadsheet like this
                        1. Video file
                        2. XBMC, Mediacodec / Libstagefright
                        3. MXPlayer
                        4. Stock player
                        5. Remarks under each video player, eg. smooth playback, no dropped frames, using software decoding and lots of dropped frames, black screen, not playable etc.
                        6. Firmware used, device used
In an sharable, editable Google Spreadsheet file.
Then we can see if certain devices have worse video playback than others or what codecs/kind of files are causing problems.

Also think these videos will be more than enough.

Maybe also get some 1080p videos, but think those play mostly fine now.

New SPMC is out with HEVC support. 4K videos I tried work well.

Preliminary support for h265 (including RK3288) Preliminary support for Android TV Allow sleep and Daydream to kick in (e.g. on Amazon Fire TV) Add setting to scrape all videos, even if they failed...

Have Rockchip given up on trying to Mod XBMC/kodi or are they they perhaps co-operating more fully with the official devs now?

Yes, they now work with SPMC.
HEVC now work fully on SPMC v13.3.4 beta 1.
When final Kodi is released a new SPMC will also be made.

'SPMC 13.3.4 beta1 is from RockChip and SPMC team that optimize for RK3288. Going forward, Rockchip will fully support SPMC instead of their custom Kodi.'
