to be honest Pipo m6pro battery life is 6 hours with screen on (good but not fantastic)

but it's not correct to compare with newer tablets:

Texclast x98 air 3g II is 8 hours as Pipo p1 with a weight of 500gr (pipo is 650gr)
cube talk 9x is 10 hours personally tested (there isn't an android tablet with better battery life)

hdmi for me is useless, I used it with m6pro just because miracast NEVER worked (and still not work), but now with miracast it's a lot better than HDMI phisical connection. if you have an old TV you can add miracast function with 14€ EZcast dongle, that's why hdmi is becoming useless on a tablet.

You're right about community (even if Pipo community don't accept comparisons ), for teclast there isn't a good community yet, but there is for the cube (very technical).

Pipo P1 has very good front facing speakers for movie watching and webstreams. Landscape mode.

Yes, the speaker set works better than the rear facing speakers on the P9.

I've installed Viper on mine...and it boosts the volume considerably.

hahahahahahaha....sorry, but this is a just not true. Yes the placement is great (something that Samsung just never learnt on any phones including the GS5), but the speakers are just awful, as were those on the M6 (At least the P1 does not cover the speakers with the plastic base!). The sound is barely audible over the fan in my macbook pro beside me when in full flow and sound fully up. I can hear the kids Ipad from upstairs with all doors closed. Different class of quality, but we know that.

All in all if the speakers were in any way audible, I would be happy with the pricepoint/quality of the P1 (given Riley's Rom additions). But don't expect your kids to be forgiving if they are ipad users, they will flag it as "garbage" it within 5 minutes (as mine did with my M6 and my P1 - They were right about the M6 so far!).

In fact I was talking only about position NOT SOUND VOLUME!

Only with the cube my collegues with iPad appreciated my device: cube talk 9x has a build quality comparable with iPad air.

I like my P1 so far. I'm on stock 4.4.2, rooted. I was unable to install custom firmware.

I didn't experienced any serious issues so far. I only afraid to drain battery to 0, it really sucks. Also there is no any charging indicator (especially no charging indicator when tablet is off). Camera is incredibly bad, we just can say that camera is completly useless (bottom and front - both), but I don't really need camera in tablet so I don't even care.

3G, wifi, gps, all works very well. Of course, benefits are:
                - good performance
                - gps, 3g, hdmi
                - good screen (actually, could be better but it's not bad)
And all of this with reasonable, not very high price. I was considering to buy onda instead of pipo, but price was higher and always something was missing: missing hdmi, missing 3g, missing gps etc. Or low screen resolutions, I don't even look at tablets when screen resolution is lower than 1920x1080.

After damaging my m6pro while trying to change the touch screen, I went for the P1.

So far I am impressed. It's stable, fast and just works as it should.

Pipo screwed up with the M6pro and I am glad I went with the P1 so that I can still use the M6 bits and pieces like chargers etc.

                    pipo p1 unusable performance

Now I don't know if the P1 is slow because I did install a lot of apps on it (over Riley's 1.6 ROM), but is basically so laggy as to render it useless (just like the P6 I had before).

Its enough to have me want an iPad! I'm not looking for lightening speed, but when the entire pad is unresponsive e for minutes upon basic operations, enough is enough.

I also tried Viper to sort the sound. It reports it is installed and reboots. It launches with viper running, but I hear no difference in the sound.

All in all a disaster of a tablet in current config and I would say run fast from it.

p.s. perhaps some will I form me if a home app and installing lots of apps should be implicated instead?

                    My only hope is lollipop!

flow, there are very good alternatives:

Teclast P98 with a very fast Allwinner A80T
iFive Air with RK3288 (same of Pipo p1) and a lightning fast boot time of 10sec
Teclast X98 Air II 3G with intel baytrail and dual boot Android/windows
                      Cube T9 with the new MT8752 (octacore Cortex A53 64bit + Mali T760 and 4G LTE support)

I owned a Pipo before (now I'm really happy of my cube talk 9x), but now there are very good alternatives at 1/4 of the price of iPad with very good performances!

It's possible that the combination of apps you have installed may be causing your problem.

My P1 and P9's run smoothly...but I have a handful of standard apps I run and use on my tablets.

If you do a fresh flash of the ROM...then start adding apps one by one testing the tablet's performance...you might run across the culprit app that is dragging down your system.

I agree, Randy, it's strange because RK3288 is a fast enough SoC, it should not be laggy!

I have my P1 for a week now. It reboot 3 to 5 times per hour, freeze 2/3 times per minute whatever I'm doing, and wifi reception is a nightmare. I'm sure it's a good model but I've bad luck with this one. I send all intel to the Pipo support, hope they'll do something quickly

                              That sounds bad.

Could it be a bad app?

It's been at least 2 weeks since I last rebooted mine.

I installer the 1.8 RileyROM yesterday evening. Much better now. I also remove Facebook, hope it will be enough!
