    1. Open the flash tool and uncheck all ROM components except recovery.img.
    2. Click the little browse button next to recovery and browse to the TWRP_1.5.1.img in the RileyROM folder and select it as the file you want to flash.
    3. Plug your tablet to your PC via USB.
    4. When the flash tool sees your tablet, click switch.
    5. Click run.
    6. The flash will be very quick. When it's done, your tablet will reboot to syetem.
    7. Use the Petrus Reboot app to reboot to recovery.
    8. Your tablet will boot into TWRP.

    Thanks for that rrileypm

I'd seen all of this on the forum but didn't understand any of it but thankfully my P9 is up and running like a dream now thanks to you . And not just that, I have found that many more apps from Google store are compatible.

Keep up the good work, coz you're one cool dude that knows what he's doing

Lowerformat Device and Test Device Fail?

      Hey.

I've followed the instructions but it didn't work.

Instead I got Lowerformat device fail
and then Test device fail when I tested to
      skip Lowerformat because that failed.

Does anyone have any idea why and how I can solve this?
Why does it says "Test Device"?

I've received the tablet today from a company in
UK so that worries me a bit.

      Thanks in advance.

Be sure you are using the USB cable that came with the device. It has a longer microsd plug.

Also, be sure to only use a USB 2.0 port....not USB 3.0.

Lower Format usually doesn't work on these 3288's, but it's worth a try anyway.

Just flash the ROM without erasing NAND. I think you might also have the USB problem, because usually it goes through and gives you a 100% on the Lower Format.

            Thanks for the answer.
I don't have the right USB cable as I lost it,
but I have ordered a new one from Pipo.
Any idea why it says test device?
Is it possible to check how long the device
have been used, in total? The
picture and music maps were created 13th of September
and I received the tablet last Thursday.
Just want to make sure the tablet haven't been used
as an test device from the company as I've ordered a new one.

Sometimes the firmware updates are marked as test instead of user device...either the firmware is still in test status, or the forget to change it....nothing to worry about.

Hello, and thank you for great rom. I am wondering IF there is any way to unroot?

I am trying to use a tv station app to watch programs. I installed xposed framework and tried with rootcloak but somehow the program still knows something is wrong and gives error unable to watch. Without the exposed it gave error: not able to wach videos with rooted device. So i think i need a clean not-rooted rom. Any ideas how to proceed?

It still recognises as rooted the original rom

Have you tried unchecking 'enable superuser' in the SuperSU settings? This hides root access and works like a charm for my TV app (Ziggo).

I got my P9 today and already flashed RileyROM 1.6 on it. Funnily I got a P9 3G version despite having ordered a WIFI P9. I had some trouble in getting the correct drivers to install since the old rockusb driver used with RK3188 (Max M9) was unable to start. Downloaded the RK3288 RK driver assistant package referenced to somewhere in Freaktab and used it to uninstall old drivers. Automatic installation did not work so I had to manually install the new drivers (both ADB and rockusb) before the flashing could begin. I have Windows 7 on my work machine.

The RileyROM is working well so far and I haven't noticed anything wrong with it, will post if I found something. Keep up the good work!

                              Hello.
I turn off the OS on the P9. But when I plug in power jack or USB cable it turns on the OS automatically. Is it normal? =)

That seems to be a feature of the kernel on these latest tablets, effectively it must be unplugged to shutdown.
