See I read somewhere previously on this forum that you used NTFS for this reason, so I originally formatted my card with it when I got it. However, for some strange reason, the card became Read only in my tablet. When I put it back into my computer, windows stated it was corrupted and needed to be fixed. I figured NTFS on this card was incompatible with the P9. So I formatted with ExFat and everything was fine, except the very low write speeds only on the P9.

Anyway, I just re-formatted it back to NTFS, did a couple transfer tests on the P9 and strangely at the start of the transfer it writes at 20mb/s (same as on PC) but steadily drops to an average of 11 mb/s as low as 8.9. In any case, that's about the speed I got on the M9, so I'm ok with that. The 2mb/s and below was just unbearable. I download a lot of stuff and transfer it over to my external, then pop out the SD and back it up on my computer. SD card reads a whole lot faster in my Card Reader vs. the Micro USB on the Pipo.

I also tried downloading straight to my SD to negate the transfer, but sometimes the tablet will run choppy and or freeze at the start of the download.. so the tablet for whatever reason can't utilize the SD as it can the NAND Flash.

Crossing my fingers that my card doesn't become corrupt again on NTFS.

Well I tested again downloading directly to SD and its fine right now. Before when it was laggy was on exfat, doesn't appear to have that problem on NTFS. So I'm guessing the culprit is the exfat format.

          Hello!
          Please!
          I really have no idea...
How to navigate the CWM screen without Volume buttons?
          Regards

Use the TWRP recovery in the ROM kit. It uses touch screen.

                  Where to download androidtool.exe

Hello Riley, Today I received a P9 and I want to flash to RR 1.6 on it. Unfortunately I can not download a proper version of the androidtoolbox.exe program. Or is it the same as rkandroidtoolbox.exe? I also already tried to use this program, but he can not find the tablet. Can you give me some sugestions how start with it properly? Thanks in advice already.

Everything you need to flash RR 1.6 is in archive, that you download from the first page of this topic.

Thank you for your quick answer. I feel a little ashamed when I read your advice. I ha some problem with installing the drivers.I wanted to quit with the whole process but accidently I pressed RUN and he started installing everything !!! I left it running and it looks like everything is OK with the 1.6 ROM on it. Later I will tell some more

                        Another new P9 owner here and wondering what ROM it came with, maybe someone can clarify few things for me;

                        Android version 4.4.2

                        Kernel version: 3.10.0
                        Root@lzj-desktop #138
                        Thu Sep 11 14:45:19 CST 2014

                        Build number: rk3288-eng 4.4.2 KOT49H eng.root.20140911.152335 test-keys

Now, it seems to have only one Chinese program and 4k video player installed as default.
So is this already some custom ROM perhaps?
How can I make a full backup of it before flashing another one?
And is there a way to use Linux to flash RileyROM? I dont use windows at all...

Im impressed how nicely this tablet runs allready, so wondering if I should try flash Rileys ROM to see any difference.

                        EDIT:

Well, I read the first time user guide few times and checked threads in forums. After that I was brave enough to take backup of my old ROM and then install RileyROM 1.6 with TWRP recovery on my device. It was really easy to my suprise! I used old laptop that I installed Win 7, luckily can use normally few days before activation locks it up, but gotta check on Linux way to do it in future.

Now I got a monster of a device that will serve me for long time I hope

I can recommend this device for anyone tbh, havent had any problems yet! *fingers crossed*

Anyone have logcat installed and see if they also got log spammed by SurfaceFlinger service? It seems to create thousands of lines of spam in few minutes. It gives log of every touch you make on device.

                          Code:
                          12-08 02:34:58.593 D/SurfaceFlinger(150): sf use time=13 ms

                          12-08 02:35:03.673 D/SurfaceFlinger(150): sf use time=11 ms
This does not seem to impact performance at all, but spamming the log makes hard to find other errors and might make log files stupidly huge and maybe stress the flash memory.

I did some googling and found this:

Trying to figure out how to disable it. Could it be in ROM itself, or have I somehow enabled that by mistake?

It seems my problem is extremely rare! Even Google has just fee hits regarding it and no solutions. I guess I gotta reflash the device and hope it wont appear again...
