ok bob download a few posts back the installer if you want.
and open the zip and open updater script there you see the screentouch coordinates for the 10b g3.
did you have too do that for your cwm?
so yes can you replace the coordinates too this script

No the CWM touch I used is generic and does not need coordinates. It just works as it has soft buttons at the bottom for navigating.

ok ,pswartout flash just the recovery.img from bob again. without erasing idb.
you not lose userdata with that.
and look if the aroma installer works with the buttons on bob's cwm recovery

Doesn't seem to work. Here's the steps I took;
1. shut down the tablet
2. put tablet into download mode (menu + reset)
3. fired up RK29update.exe included within Arnova_9G2_Finless_GingerComb_v2.1a CWM and only selected recovery
4. once tablet had restarted I then rebooted into recover mode (using the reboot app)
5. tablet started in ClockworkMod Recovery v5.8.2.4 (it says "a snakekillerRecovery.." at the top of the screen)
6. install from zip
I get the same results. Have I missed something here? Is there another step I need to do?Last edited by pswartout; 23 September 2012, 20:31.

What parameter file are you using? If you flashed snakekiller ROM you should use his parameter file and my recovery. If you just opened my 9g2 ROM kit and tried to flash recovery directly from that then you are using my parameter file! Remember the parameter file is what tells the flash to WHERE to flash each thing. So you should copy my recovery into snakekillers ROM kit so your using his parameter file.

Snake / Bob,
To make 100% sure I didn't screw it up again I re-flashed with "Arnova_9G2_ICS_Full_Root_Snakekiller_1.4 beta", booted up then back into download mode and selected the recovery.img from arnova9g2_gingercomb_finless21a_cwm.
I then booted up and rebooted into recovery mode.
The CWM menu from Bob's ROM started but with the following displayed
E:Can't open /dev/block/mtdblock1
(no such file or directory)
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
I can select the menu entries but nothing happens when I do. The navigation keys at the bottom of the screen don't seem to work either.
All in all I would say this didn't work

A few suggestions for performance
I've been playing with the ROM and although it seems to be a bit smoother than the stock ICS ROM there are a few things which might need looking at
1) the 9G2 only has 512Mb so it struggles with ICS anyway - are there any additional tweaks that could be made to improve performance?
2) the preinstalled "awesome beats audio" and "speaker boost" take up valuable resource so you may want to consider removing them (I found some performance increase when I removed them via system tuner pro)
3) i'm wondering if the stock launcher would use less resource than Apex - previously I have found this to be the case in 4.0.3
I'll keep playing

Snakekiller would then need to make a new CWM recovery from the original recovery. I have given him instructions how to do this in the dev thread. Ask for help if you need snaky
hint. The mount errors or due to recovery.fstab and how the parameter files are organized for you ROM.

This solution it does not really increase performance, but it might reduce the chance an app gets loaded from the disk every time you need it.
When the system is running out of memory Compcache will first try to compress some, before killing the app. Theoretically it should decrease the chance an app gets killed, therefore making it faster when you re-open it a 2nd time.
Not everybody agrees it's a real benefit. Often it requires some fine tuning of the swappiness parameters to be really effective.
If you normally run a couple of apps (let's say gmail and browser), and you are short of memory just by a little so that it's impossible to keep both of them in RAM, you should see a huge benefit from Compcache.
On the other side, if you run many apps which anyway will force the system to start killing old apps very often, with Compcache you make the situation worse.
