Blue LED went out, Box Frozen?

I was just plugging in the M8 at a new location.
Stupidly i had powered the unit up, then plugged in the HDMI cable, which turned the blue LED off.

The box is currently displaying the home screen, the LAN lights work as does the optical audio glow red.
But the box is frozen in state, remote will not respond, blue led is not illuminated.
I can enter recovery mode, but i cant use the remote to select any options.
I also plugged in the WDTV power supply for a short time, but the specs match.
HDMI lead was already plugged into TV, maybe it fried something?

    This happened to anyone?

    Thanks

    1. normally you had to connect the HDMI before you power on the device

Maybe something's wrong with the HDMI cable or the HDMI-port at the other device?

Normally i would have connected the HDMI before powering up the box.
But it was in a hurry

The box actually boots up and displays the home screen, but the Blue LED fails to work and so does the Remote Control.... As they are one in the same remote PCB, perhaps it just killed the plug in board?

Is there a way i can LAN connect to this box to see if its still operational?

It would allow a now me to install a new ROM, and rebooted into the introduction screen.
But one again, no blue LED and no remote control.

        1. I think so (maybe you should have a look at the connection because maybe something happened to it during the transport?)
        2. no idea
        3. use wire(less) mouse/keyboard ...

Thank You no spam for me,

Yes, the unit works perfectly using the WiFi remote!
I had unplugged and reconnected the IR board, made no difference.

So it seems the unit runs fine, it is just the Blue LED and IR that will not function.
Does anyone know where you can buy the individual parts for these boxes?

I have already sent an email to the supplier (not the retailer)
