    [Pipo-Project] M8HD kernel

    Ok, I'm building this now.

So far all I've done is add NTFS file system support and NFS/CIFS support to the standard config.

First test - AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! - here

Speaking about M8HD kernel (hope I am not off-topic), I can remember that stevejc did some tweaking about voltage and something in the kernel itself if I am not wrong: I jyst add this just to reference, hoping it is useful...

Hi, I have only used the script to overclock, and it's only a patching script not building it from sources

Ok the good news is that it boots and the screen powers up, the bad is it sticks on boot screen

Working on it for a while but busy so dont expect much

[edit] adb comes up but not OS to execute shell

I suspect my toolchain isn't compatible?

Let me have a second try with the Pipo sources.
I've spent most of the day 'porting the knowledge gained from the Pipo stuff into my public generic RK3188 repo. I hope to have them merged soon.

I am struggling to to find any guides or source codes to help but i can offer the concept/info i found on a couple off web site http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.linu...lnewbies/38411 & http://www.boeffla-kernel.de/non-joo...tings.html#CPU

Multi-Core Power Saving Hot plug feature allows for making a processor offline and let the system run as if there is only a single core. Now,comes the scenario - Let there are '2' cores in the system both running at a load of 40% (i.e. total load 80%), now in this case ideally '1' CPU is sufficient. So, if we make 2nd Core offline that will make the system execute everything on core '1'.

                            CPU multicore power saving
                            Default: Off

Expected impact: Potentially better battery life

Note: If you are using the zzmoove governor, it is recommended to not use this option and keep it on Off.

Multicore power saving aims to schedule tasks between multiple cores in the CPU. It can be
                            • Off
                            • On - power-save balance by loading first core until it's 100% loaded
                            • Aggressive - load balance the CPU cores by keeping the load even between them

Hotplugging does load balancing already by taking care of thresholds, run queues, process priorities, cut-off frequency, etc. So there's no use of setting this to On only. You can however try the Aggressive setting.

                              bravo !

next step could be help us ,other tablet kernel dev, jump on the train and have a 'working' build tree on our own.

                              seems possible ?
                              tks.
