Yes I can confirm mines the same, crashes on forwarding etc.
But at leat theres some continuity here and the hdmi passthrough works. Now just got to figure out why xbmc crashes on forwarding etc.
Im no expert but would changing the advancedsettings.xml alter anything?
I may try tinkering again tomorrow as its late here and im off bed

Yes, I can confirm the same problem when stepping forward - crashes to the launcher screen. Any method of advancing to a point other than the start will result in a crash. Almost there.

Finally a R89 that can play Video files with 5.1 AAC Surround Sound without a stutter every 2 seconds! HD DTS works as well.
    Excellent

Modded Kodi and lib file combo works for me!

Got the modded "special" Kodi to download to my PC. Chrome again had some warnings and renamed the zip file. So I copied it to an SD card, restored the file name, unzipped it in the R89 and installed it.

Runing Finless 1.2 on Beelink R89. With "special Kodi", playing a video working until I step forward 3 or 4 times, then it crashes to the desktop. Trying to switch to DTS causes it to crash immediately. This is very consistent. Now I am going to uninstall the "special Kodi" again and see what happens.

BTW, the videos play very well.

With Kodi uninstalled and only SPMC on my box, I still have Dolby passthrough via HDMI. It did NOT crash when stepping forward, I could also change to DTS and it played. However, there is a slight echo which I have never experienced before.

Now I will install the latest Kodi and test it.

Edit 2: installed latest nightly Kodi (October 19) , no surround. Rebooted box, still no Dolby. Tried SPMC again, still have Dolby and DTS. Very strange.

Edit 3: reinstalled the special Kodi, still crashes when switching to DTS, and stepping forward. Other than those 2 items, it plays well with Dolby passthrough.

    Yes and No,

Kodi runs but it has the same symptoms that it had with the HDMI patch on the 109k4 software.

SPMC, I get video (but in semi slow motion) and no sound - the surround sound indicator on my Yamaha receiver flashes with both spidf and HDMI pass through settings - first time that I have seen this. The "enable transcoding" setting does not make a difference here.

I am running Finless 1.2 ROM with the modded libmedia.so file

    Correction:
The "enable transcoding" setting actual does make a difference. The surround sound indicator flashes when the transcoding is enabled. Looks like the disabling did not take into effect when I tested it the first time around

    Hmmm, different outcomes it seems.

Is everyone using the same rom?

Might be worth a fresh install of beelinks 110k version and testing the stock xbmc, I'm thinking if people are on different roms or have installed many different xbmc's on their unit then redundant or differing files might play a part in the differing results.

    Just a thought?

Thanks for the info regarding correct folder guys

    Edit,
It works fine for me with my Ugoos UT3 and Denon AVR X2000 amplifier.

Tried it on my R28 last night with Bob's ROM.

Whenever I attempted to replace the existing libmedia.so file the box would reboot.

I had to delete the existing version first.

I didn't work for me though when I did apply it but as I mainly use SPDIF it isn't a big issue for me.

I was using the modified XBMC that Jakemate linked to. It crashed almost instantly and I tried it several time, even rebooting my R89. Just for the heck of it, I checked SPMC to see if it was rebooting because of something about the libmedia.so, it crashed aslo. BUT, I did find out that it passed through the Dolby. I uninstalled the XBMC that Jakemate linked to just to verify that the libmedia was actually giving the XBMC the pass through ability, and in fact it did. So, with that libmedia.so, you do NOT need a special XBMC. BUT I still have to do more testing to resolve the crashing issue. I did get a movie to play completely without crashing using SPMC with Dolby passthrough.

I am a bit carefull with downloading software from any site. (Got a Google warning last night when I tried to download one.....)
