Hello Riley and thank you for this work. Maybe I am missing something
but I have downloaded the wifi version for my tablet and I cannot find
the TWRP recovery file. In the Rileyrom folder there is only one recovery.img
file and I am guessing this is the stock one.

      I can check that....sorry.

The quickest way to get it is to either go to Abdul_pt's TWRP thread...or download the 3G version and see if it's in there....it's the same file.

The link I've found in the RileyROM 1.4 thread leads directly to the TWRP for P1 :

            Extract stock img

I have downloaded the stock rom from pipo.cn but cannot mount it with Linux or Ext4unpacker in windows.
can I extract it directly or do i have to flash the rom to my device and copy it?

Unpacking the factory firmware requires a special tool in Linux. Check out 900supersport's thread on working Rockchip ROMs in the development section.

Sorry I'm mobile, so I can't provide a link to it.

                Battery drain

I feel that battery drain was less in 1.6 over 1.7, anyone got similar experience?
                Thanx.

Me too, specially in the first days after flash 1.7
But now it seem comparable with 1.6

                    Lost

I'm trying to use your firmware and is getting stuck at installing the Rockport driver. It doesn't install properly and gives an exclamation mark and code 10. Any hints?

I do have win 7 64 and I've used these drivers trying to get started.

                    Thanks

                      Newbe

Hi I am bit of a newbe at Android stuff.

Started with a Anpie single core A10, a bit ancient now.
Decided to update to PIPO P1 WiFi only,
                      read what reviews were available,
I have had no problems with stock rom but I wanted to upgrade firmware to latest.
                      Rileys way appealed to me.

I have learnt one thing with compurers allways start with a clean installer dont fiddle & then install.
Extract two coppies keeping 1 untouched for later.

Loaded Windows drivers useing driverinstall.exe from USB,RK xxxxx.zip file as Admin on Win7x64 "OK"

Soon found I needed to tap "SWITCH" for the rom dump tool to work "DONE & saved"

Went to my untouched RR-rom 1.7 on desktop, followed instructions from RileyROM 1.6 [RK3288]
                      steps 1 to XX.

GREAT no problems "DONE all works fine" FANTASTIC".

                      PS.
"Can I use the TWRP_PiPO_P1.img file fom RR-1.6 on 1.7".

                      Best Regards
                      Eddy48.

After reading what Eddy48 wrote I used the driver assistance and that saved my day. Now it works.
                        Sorry about that.

Anyone having an idea how to boost the volume on the P1?
                          Thanks

I'm having trouble flashing the ROM with my new Windows 7 64-bit PC. I flashed all previous Riley ROMs without issues with Windows 7 32-bit. I can do "Switch" but I'm stuck at "LowerFormat" which gives "Lowerformat Device Fail". I want to explore "alternate_reboot_to_flash_tool".

What do I do when I'm in RKBatchTool.exe? BTW, square "1" under Connected Devices is green inside RKBatchTool.exe. Pls help

This has been discussed at least three or four times now... In various Pipo P1 ROM threads...
I don't believe that the search function of the forum didn't found any hits...

I will give you just one Hint -- Viper4Android... Well maybe two - search the older ROM threads and you will find your answer ;-)

First answer this question - does the AndroidTool detect "ONE Loader device" once you press the Switch and the Tablet switches into Bootloader mode ?
If yes - then we can investigate further.
If no - you don't have the drivers installed properly. Reinstall the drivers.
