If on the other hand... We go by the above... Well Of course that's not gonna work DUH! The MXIII (And pretty much everything Android, or even Linux for that matter. CAN NOT read MicroSoft's Proprietary NTFS File Format. The Only way... Or at least One of the only ways you could conceivably slide on an External HDD to the MXIII (Here after: "Android Box"), is to format said HDDs to use FAT32. Which has a 2TB Volume Limit, with Single Files no greater then 4GB each. So if that's the answer your were looking for?

You might have some more luck in getting the Android Box to read EXT4 Partitions. But if EXT4 were that simple. I'm sure we'd all be using it over Linux. Or though some translation Software on Windows right now. And MicorSoft would have to stop demanding Protection Money from the like of Android OEMs. i.e. Patent Royalties over FAT32. But, its apperently not that simple though.

If you happen to have something like a Fritzbox, that has a USB3.0 (or Two Ports on it) like the 7490, then you could try running your HDDs though there. I'd well assume that you'd have to use a powered Hub of some sort though if you planed to run all Five Drives at once though.

If you want some free advice... Go lurk some more on Fleabay, and wait for a good deal on a used NAS Box.... Or Three.

In any case... You could've and, shuold have made a new Thread. instead of Hijacking this One...
