Other experiences (may not be the main goal of this beta)
I have a fly mouse which worked perfectly with 1.4 but with 1.5 the layout is screwed up (for example the "z" and "y" keys are swapped; back button doesn't work)

Could you elaborate on why you are using XBMC no-neon ? I use neon and couldn't really figure out if ug802 is a neon device, but I see no real difference in performance between neon or no neon

So far I tried youtube and it has slight delay but almost there and some buffering issues but that could be my internet. Tried eHomeMeadiaCenter and had a slight stuttering in audio in 720p and 1080p videos with slight lag but almost spot on. Tried a few 480p tv shows and almost perfect sync but still noticeable if I look for it. But overall its a huge improvement than previous version.

We need a standard A/V sync test for a controlled comparison.
This should give us a good base bench mark and point of reference.

Audio/Video sync test posted on youtube... have a look.

White boxes flash and audio sounds beep at 40ms increments.
In theory, when the video is played back on your device,
the beep and white flash should occur simultaneously.
Perfect sync is achieved in the video at the 28 second time frame.

The off set is counted in milli seconds and shown on screen towards the bottom.
This reveals how much the audio is behind or ahead in relation to the key frame.

          AVI video test Link >...sound_sync_test.avi
Download file to your device and play in whatever vid player.
Note: Always play the clip from the start.

Download and play the files through your media player and post your results.
Post what player you used and what simultaneous sync was acheived.
Was in 40ms ahead? 60ms behind off? I think we need accurate data.

This won't account for the numerous video formats that exist.
But at least this can be used as a base reference to compair our results.

            AV sync vid for reference

            With the old v1.4
            I got various results.
Playing the test vid on the Youtube app... it was around 400ms behind.
Playing the vid with flash in a web browser.... it was 40ms behind.
Playing the AVI vid in the stock Video Player... it was 40ms behind. No question.

            edit
Played it again and got different results... very strange.
Rebooted and cleared cash... Now I got 200ms behind with the avi.
            Not even consistent...

            This was with v1.4 ROM.

This should give us a bench mark of reference to help us out.
Down load the files to test on our individual devices.
At key frame 28 seconds the loop is in perfect sync.

Here is the video on youtube...

but at least this can be used as a base reference.
that was what i was thinking about just before fading away. we need to test on reference streams and vids to get common results. so plz post recommended links where we can clearly test audio/video sync. :-) will continue testing after work... timeshifting sucks! ;-)

My air mouse Mele F10 also not working properly.
                Many characters are typed incorrectly.
With firmware 1.4 everything was ok.

                  Hi Everyone,

Am running this on a UG802+

                  - Plugged in a USB keyboard and noticed that it's configured by the system as a the German QWERTZ type.
                  - Have installed the latest neon nightly of xbmc and can watch livetv via tvheadend network location to a tuner on my NAS. Very smooth and no sync issues.
                  - Can't update libraries to uPNP sources in XBMC (could be a XBMC issue)
                  - SD vidoe play in XBMC is good. No audio lag.
                  - HD (720p) video play in XBMC is jerky but via the in-built players is smooth with no audio lag.
                  - AV Sync video posted earlier shows no lag in any players.
                  - All video played over wireless. Speedtest.net measuring 50mbps to local Brisbane based server via internet.

Am happy to run specific tests for anybody who's interested.

                  bb

So you down loaded my test avi ? And got a perfect 1 to1 ratio with the sync vid?
No off sets at all, not even a 40ms?
Was the white box and beep at perfect sync at the 28 second mark?

                      I downloaded both AVIs and:

                      sound_sync_test.avi = perfect sync at 28 secs
                      sound_in_sync_test.avi = perfect sync for 40 secs

                        Ok so thats not consistant...
28 sec in the time frame is true perfect sync set at 0.
40 sec in the time frame is out by 280ms.
It's not even close to being the same but I'm trying to get specific data for Bob.
                        Thanks

                        For reference when testing peeps...
It starts off at 520ms out then slowly down to 0 then back out of sync to 520ms.
Could be ahead or behind in sync depending on what you see during the test.

I reposted the download link on a different server....
Don't play this file on the zippyshare flash player. Thats not the test.

DOWNLOAD THIS FILE TO THE DEVICE FOR TESTING

It is consistant - As I said in my first post, there are two avi files at
(link deleted by request) one of which plays video and audio in sync for the duration of the clip.

Ya that one that plays video and audio in perfect sync for the duration of the clip is a mistake.
So disregard that link. It's not playing the count down loop. Its a bad file. It's the mp4 test file.
I should remove it so people don't get confused. Thanks for testing it out.

Which link you want me to remove?

Also do not worry about the air mouse! I will fix that and know exactly what it is. Again we are working on sync issues at this time.

So based on testing. Is there an improvment or not?

So far we don't have much data or responds from my test link.... we need more feed back.
I haven't personally flashed the beta ROM.

                                Thanks Bob
Hope it helps you get a little closer to the end result.
