so you say but you seem to put down other companies other than acemax.

your comment may not indirect but seems like you do it often for other companies

but soon as its acemax you get all defensive, I know you are seller for acemax.

So, whom is one to trust when purchasing a magic box?

The MX2 has been Amazon's best selling TV media box for a year and already the Q box is the number one seller. The MX2 has hundreds of positive reviews and buyers primarily and -many- exclusively use them for video & movie streaming. For many XBMC users first MX2 & now it appears the new Q box is their favorite box.

I've owned & used the MX2 for over a year. I have used the Q box since it was released [early Dec, 2014]. Maricom is a small company & it has its faults. {It IS NOT A FACTORY) A major fault is they over hype their products. They claim things in their advertising that they fail to fall through with, for instance easy OTA updates for the MX2, whch never got one OTA update. There are several ROM bug fixes but owners must flash the ROM themselves. XBMC WAS NEVER UPDATED & the Special Edition XBMC never received add-on updates. I deleted it & installed the newest stable version & found Fusion Installer includes a custom Matricom configuration wizard.

The boxes are buggy. A big bug of the MX2 wasn't fixed until recently with the 1.2.1 ROM [remotes did not sync properly. Entering text was SLOW]. and the new Q box has some bugs and an odd ROKU-Like launcher. This and no user manual! None of their boxes are usable by the majority
consumer who is frustrated with any need to tweak beyond playing a radio or CD/DVD player.

And who cares if they rebrand some other companies box? Matricom provides good support and they have a great refund policy. When you call you get a member of team matricom, not a secretary with a 10-page user manual that buyers should have been given in the first place or someone in Mexico or China who can barely speak English & knows little about tech.

Why bother to buy Matricom? Do you have any idea how many companies rebrand? Famous CCRANE radio rebrands, Radio Shack rebrands, many companies do. There are only about three TV makers, the rest rebrand.

Matricom like CCRANE do not "SIMPLY" rebrand. They test and identify hardware that are a great combination of components and they order some spec changes they think are important. MOST IMPORTANTLY, team Matricom
is devoted at making a functioning Android Media ROM THEY would like to have. They come rooted and YOU d not void you warranty by deleting the factory OS and trying to install your own. Many users, install and run Linux in their MX2. If you brick your box, you can return it to Matricom & they will return it to factory state for free.

I highly recommend people try the Q box. Buy one directly from Amazon. You have 30 days to return it free shipping and no questions asked. When I got my Q Box an OTA ROM upgrade to 1.2.1 was waiting for me. It gave me the new stable release of KODI 14.2. It has a minor bug and the Q box has a minor bug. The remote stinks BUT my Measy RC fly mouse/keyboard, My Logitech k400 full sized wireless keyboard and my Logitech M305 wireless mouse work perfectly.

By the Way, what makes you think you have a Matricom Box? The MXIII with the specs you provide and the on in your phones is a Chinese Makibes using the MX logo. Look it up at Amazon. a few brands make that box. You can find them on Amazon. You would be much happier adding a few dollars to the $83 wasted on an MXIII & buying an MX2 or a G-Box Q.

Shipping it back doesn't seem very convenient for the user. I haven't been able to brick my Acemax M8N yet, and when I load a bad ROM/recovery, I can use the USB OTG port to flash it back to factory. Acemax M8N FTW!

I agree with you Bruisedquasar012 about rebranding and white labeling, everyone does it and you have to expect it.

What really grinds my gears is when a PCB fab is contracted to make a product (say the K200 Amlogic board), and then they steal the design, cut production costs, and release their own "knock-off" that is $10 cheaper. The cheaper ones usually have cheaper components more likely to fail. In the end, the PCB fab wins, and we all lose, with crappy clones, and paranoid designers.

The hardware decoding is really nice! The MX2 remains the best Android box for XBMC....
Hmmmm, I have several MX2's and a Mac Mini that I run XBMC on and I have no problem at all with the Logitech K400 keyboard. It is the one with the built in trackpad on it. Works fine on the Mac mini and the MX2's. Like you said, the XBMC streaming is great on the MX2's and it looks like the Gbox Q is just as good but faster. I just got mine last night and so far it seems almost as responsive as the Mac mini for navigating xbmc. I loaded xbmcbackup and restored a backup from the Mac Mini and have all my usual addons up and running like a charm. Switching between addons and navigating around xbmc is definitely faster than the MX2, very nice.

A buddy of mine talked to matricom today. And it seems they are going to be fading out the G Box and coming out with a new Quad Core box with just 1GB of ram. I'm not sure which chip they would be using. I would guess, s805 or s812. No reason to put out another s802 since they all ready have that...

So they will be replacing the MX2 with a 1GB Quad core box to have a cheaper model to choose from? Interesting, would have to be a decent amount cheaper for users to buy it over the Gbox Q, which is already pretty cheap at $119. That being said, I wouldn't think they would use a better chip then the Gbox Q since it would cost them more money.
