Not an issue but a bad setting : probably because my tablet was configured in China before the delivery, Google Now located me in China and then refused to connect, 'cause this service seems to be forbidden in China.

Even if GPS was working fine, the tablet still thought i was in China...

A simple factory reset make the trick.

Translating changelog of published firmware 1.02, it seems the very first official revision firmware, so OGU I suppose you already have it on your tablet, isn't it?

Now I have to decide. It is pretty obvious that the 9x I sent back for repair is gone ...so, should I get a new 9X ...or take the jump to the new T9?

Everything points to the T9 but price. I have never spent this much for a tablet from China, and I am amazed there are so few outlets selling it.

Maybe after we get into 2015 the price will come down a bit, and the T9 price will be better. 280 US $ can get a number of excellent tablets from OEM builders here in the states.

        MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Pricewise, I prefer a trademark one. For example, this T9 on Alibaba:

I am waiting for the usual Boxing Day reduced prices.

And meanwhile, Merry christmas to all.

That is a better price, for sure. Thanks.

Boxing day. When does this event happen?

Edit. Boxing Day ....supposedly tomorrow ...the 26th!

So does it usually last a few days, or is it a one day event?

Love to get this tablet as low as possible!

I have never bought through Aliexpress. Looks to be the best pricing; hoping for a good experience!

From tomorrow on, BOXING DAY specials are on! It's almost universal now, the last leg of the Christmas shopping season -- 40% of annual sales! Let's use it, if it fits our needs.

What do you mean by "trademark one"?

                Thanks.

A trademark is a commercial name like Cube, Sony, etc, while OEM can be anything assembled by a manufacturer... no quality insurance. Il can be good or bad... So... a trademark is better.

Interesting. I had always thought of OEM as the better of the choices, but I see your point!

                    Thanks again.

Please. If you find a really hot price from a quality source, let us all know. I am sure many are looking at this tab.

                      Aliexpress payment?

Anyone have an opinion or know which method of payment is safest on Aliexpress?

I have always used Paypal with other sites like Buyincoins; Merimobiles ...etc.

                      Thanks

I always used credit card on Aliexpress without any issue!

                            ALIBABA SHOPPING TRICK

If you can control your craving for a new toy , put all interesting items in your cart and
wait for its reduced price:Alibaba will tell you if they are reduced. Make sure it is a reputable seller (feedbacks help) and even contact them. Anyway, your money will be in trust with Alibaba until you receive your puchase.

Most important condsideration from my experience:NEVER CLOSE A DISPUTE WITH A SELLER BEFORE RECEIVING YOUR ITEM, BECAUSE HE WILL THEN GETS THE MONEY, WHATERVER HAPPENS...

And yes, Boxing Day is rather... Boxing week!

                              Aliexpress Question

If i use a credit card, does it pay immediately ....or is it held by Aliexpress in a type of escrow until the item is delivered and accepted as advertised, plus not damaged?

I ask because other direct sites (I think Alibaba) place money in escrow till the delivery is complete and customer is satisfied.

Just been using Paypal ....which is just so easy and safe ....so I have to ask!

Thanks for a bit of clarification.

Oh ...my 'http' does not show up green as noted in the 'TRICK'. What does that mean?

                              Thanks

alibaba and aliexpress work in the same way: keep money locked until customer confirmation
