Is it possible to create Recovery USB disk on any other desktop Windows 8.1 device and use it with Pipo X7?
If not, have anybody managed to change language in boot.wim and get this work?

    Thanks

        hello again

I'm wondering is there any way to force Pipo to boot from the USB?
Just in case of Windows failure - for instance if there wouldn't be any possibility to set the booting from the external USB inside the Windows (in recovery menu).
During the boot I've tried hitting F11/F12 keys but the I failed to open boot menu.

Yes you can. Google search installing portable windows on a USB stick. Make your USB windows stick.

Then using the BIOS "boot" options you can tell the Pipo to boot from USB stick.

Sure, all you have to do is create an image of your USB drive.
You can use a tool such as HDD Raw Copy Tool to create the image.

When you need the recovery, you just have to restore the image to the USD drive

                  SD card can't be selected?

I have a SD card - 32 GB and it's recognized by Windows. But I can't use it for the recovery. It asks for a USB of minimum 8 GB.

Why didn't it work for me on the SD card? Does it need a specific FS? Fat32 / Whatever to be recognized? Can't make the recovery image this way.

If I'm not wrong, SD doesn't work also because the BIOS isn't able to boot from SD...

I would use an external SD reader at USB....

I made the recovery disk using USB. It's working. I bought a USB < - > MicroSDHC converter. So still using the SD card but in a converter so it's really a USB stick. WORKING.

Disk cloning tool for backup system partition?

I used to create a full disk backup from my fresh Windows installations with Symantec Ghost. That's also possible with Pipo's partition, isn't it? Maybe it's the most easy way to get a full backup from the original system, and when I have the backup image, the recovery partition also becomes unnecessary and can be deleted. Or is it a bad idea?

The factory Windows installation is compressed and linked to the recovery partition, thus if you delete the recovery partition, the factory Windows installation will stop working. If you really want to delete the recovery partition, you will have to reinstall Windows from original Microsoft media.

You may also use a bootable USB installed Linux distribution to make the required backups.

Cannot get #3 backup (system image) to work. Keep getting "This drive is not a valid backup location" when selecting a 8GB flash drive formatted as NTFS.

As I said somewhere, you cannot backup to a USB thumb drive. I could only get windows to backup to a USB hard disk!
