you need this if you want change the smali files.
if you only want change png's then you must copy the apk to pc and open the apk with 7zip (not extract) and drag the new png's with the same name too the correct folders in /res.
you get it?

it works. but the first time is it not simply.
its trail and error maybe the first time.

yep only with changing png.
if you want change default settings than you must change the smali 's
i did it too but you didn't see that on pics

I thought that rather than start a new thread with this question, I would resurrect this one.

I've successfully edited framework-res.apk with a new default wallpaper. It displays on boot.

The problem is that I can't seem to get the scaling right on the picture. I had Tatty make a wallpaper the exact same size as the original that I found in the framework-res. But when I load Tatty's image all I get is the center of his graphic, not the whole screen. I've tried resizing the jpg file and no matter what size I make it, the tablet scales to the center of the graphic and the outside edges never show up.

Is there an xml I need to edit to get the whole picture to display on the screen? I've been looking through the xml files, but that's like finding a needle in a haystack. Does anyone remember which file needs editing?
