Ok I bought another cable and this one is laid out as follows

    Starting from the tip

    White-Red-Ground-Yellow

It has a shorter tip but I get very bad distorted video from it and the sound is just a loud buzz

The previous cable doesn't get any video but if I pull the jack out a bit it gets the loud buzzing

    Any ideas guys?
Could I splice the two cables together maybe?

you can try this kind of cable if the audio/video output from M8 don't do the job

But I'm not sure how the jack is wired
Plug this cable in to the M8, Don't plug anything to the TV and reduce it's volume to 0, set the TV to RCA(Aux?) input. Turn on the M8. Starting with the red RCA, plug it to the TV's RCA video in. If that doesn't work, try each of the cables other RCA plugs in the TV's video in. If none of them work, then I would suspect the cable is not wired correct internally, for you box.
IMO These cables should be included with all boxes having A/V out.
The hum you are hearing could be the result of the jack's ground conductor making contact with an adjacent connector in the jack, by way of a cable whose 3.5mm conductor spacing is not correct for your M8. Or, as in my case, the cable is wired wrong and is grounding the wrong conductor on the 3.5mm plug.
If you used a meter to figure your cable's plug arrangement, try this. Turn off and unplug the M8's power cable. Plug in the 3.5mm plug to the M8. Set meter to it's lowest resistance range. Put one meter's lead on any RCA plug's ground conductor, take the other lead and touch it to each of the RCA's center conductors(pin), one at a time. Any continuity between these and your 3.5mm plug is shorting one of the M8's signal leads to ground.
You can also try these tests with the new cable you bought.
        Good luck.

That cable does not convert digital to analog, it is only a cable. I don't think it will work. An HDMI to DVI adapter will probably work, and is also cheap. They are available, both as an adapter and a cable.
          Examples.
These adapters/cables will not transfer audio, you will need a standard stereo 3.5mm to stereo RCA cable to get the sound into your TV(may not be possible because TV's DVI input will be selected). But you could use some PC speakers or an amp and speakers, if available.

Will try your suggestions regarding the cables later m8,cheers

If only somebody had one thats working and could either link to it or send me one,for a fee of course,

They are not too common in bricks and mortar stores over here,so cannot buy anymore to try unless ordered online,so its hit and miss,

Might try cutting the original cable and re wiring it as it has the longer jack length,

            Thanks again

I have no experience with this type of adapter, but from the description it would seem so.

When you try your HDMI-DVI adapter, you are getting a "Video mode" error. Would setting the M8's display to a resolution supported by the TV work. Is the M8 set to auto now? You may have to manually select. I don't know if there is a risk forcing the resolution or not.
I hope you get it going.

I'm almost sure I tried all the compatible modes, but I will double check , I think it may be the TV though as once connected by dvi the TV automatically sets itself to PC input mode,

By the way thanks for all your input dude ,

I really want to get this working, even just video would do lol

BTW Seems like you received the adapter pretty quickly.
