    [ROM] [CyanogenMod 11] [Minix x7] [THe NiTro TeaM] [Alpha build]

    Hi guys, it's been a long time since our last rom, but the time is over and today we bring you an alpha build of our last work.

    We call it internally NiTRoGeNMoD , it's basically cyanogenmod 11 for our beloved minix x7.

    We tested it a bit, not so extensive i must say, and it works very good.

    Gapps are not included but you can boot to twrp recovery and flash it.

    What doesn't work:
    - Bluetooth
    - adb over usb
    - Screen resolution selection not implemented yet
    - Sound selection not implemented yet
    - A lot of little features.. hey, it's an "alpha", what do you expect? XD





    THIS ROM IS NOT FOR BEGINNERS, SO DON'T COMPLAIN ABOUT THINGS NOT WORKING.

    RECOVERYS

    -> parameter file



    INSTALLATION
    • Download the recovery of your liking and the parameter file
    • Place the X7 in bootloader mode
    • Open RK flash tool to flash single image and select only the parameter and recovery file
    • DO NOT ERASE IDB
    • Press run/start
    • Enjoy

      • Included CWM recovery
      • Add volume buttons in navbar. Comment out "ro.rk.show.voice.icons" entry in build.prop to remove
      • This should work with any kernel, (new SDK, old SDK)

      This release will erase all of your Data, sorry. This had to be done due to the major changes implement between this 2 versions. This is a standard update.img, after unzipping, so use RK Batch tool or Android Tool.

            Installed this for a quick test. Excellent start for what I hope will be a great ROM. The only major issue I have found so far is that USB disks are not mounted correctly.

            For example, the root path of the media storage on my USB HDD shows in ES File Explorer as:

            usb://3007/UsbStorage

            and there are no mounts under:

            /mnt/usb_storage

            This prevents SPMC from accessing the media storage.


            Also, obviously, HDMI passthrough is quite high on my wish list of supported features.

                is this rom polished enough to be wife aproved? as i am happy right now with quickshot 3.1 (i dont plug external harddrives in to watch movies i use nas server over network) and i have optical audio to my sound system... has some one tested pass through with optical? and if micro stutter happens watching movies as this is my primary use other than web streaming

                    did your wife aprove any firmware change before? mine doesn't like the changes, so i ended up having a tvbox exclusively for her. that's the sacred tvbox and should not be touch by anyone xDD

                      Sure thing. I got around the mounting issue by manually mounting the drive in Terminal:
                      Code:
                      mount -o umask=000 -t ntfs /dev/block/sda1 /mnt/usb_storage
                      As you can see from my signature, I'm a big fan of CM. With my media back online (and the wife&kids happy again) I have no pressing reason to roll back.

                      Will keep you updated on any issues I might encounter.

                          On the other KK ROMs I have been using (Wasser and CE) the path to my media storage has been

                          /mnt/usb_storage/USB_DISK0/(1)

                          Which I guess translates to

                          /mnt/usb_storage/<device>/(<partition>)

                          (But you know the details much better than I)

                              Your QuickShot ROM is the only one not causing audio/video issues at 1080p on my X7. I hope your HDMI tweaks are included in the new ROM (unless they're already part of CyanogenMod).

                              Very much looking forward to trying this out! Going to wait for the beta, as my X7 is set up as the family entertainment center.
