    New stock firmware for M8/M8N/EM8???

Hi All, ran into this while browsing the net. Didn't find any posts here referring to it, thought I'd share to see if anyone has seen it before or tried it out.

I'm at work so I can't exactly test it, so if anyone is going to try it do so at your own risk I don't want to be held responsible for any bricked boxes.

update: installed successfully on M8N. So far seems smooth, not a lot of junk installed. haven't played too much with it but, looks good to me so far. Comes up as KOT49H 20150122 test-keys in settings if that matters

Thanks for letting me know. So far seems like a stable rom, haven't had any problems with it. The one thing I noticed though is when I go into the display settings there is no option to change the output to 4k, only 1080p and lower is available where the old stock rom had 4k as an output option. I don't have a 4k tv and was wondering if the 4k settings are somehow hidden because they are not supported by the tv?

Seems fast and stable. Has very good speed on wifi. However, the Wi-Fi keeps getting disconnected every 5 or 10min. Anybody else noticed this? I am testing 5ghz. I will try 2.4ghz and see if the same. My box is m8

It is also happening with 2.4ghz as well as wired connection. Even after factory reset it was still happening. Back to the most stable rom for me mustme 1.6b

As was mentioned earlier if you change the channel in the buildprop to 13 this behavior goes away probably only effects those whose router channel is set to 11 as was mine.

                    Cheers,
                    Vec

Thank you and thank you tmx. I don't know how to play with the buildprop so i will try to change my router from ch11 when i get a chance to reinstall this firmware.

                        Hope that helps
you can edit build prop with notepad++ on your pc and copy to m8

Giving this a second thought i don't think changing the router ch will help me since this is also happening on wired connection as well. I'll Google the buildprop thing and see if that helps although it also related to the wifi and my issue happens with Ethernet as well

Hey guys, anyone else can confirm this 4K option missing in the settings? I don't have a 4K tv so I can't test to see if the 4K option comes up with 4K tvs.

Also, would editing the init.rc with the below help with some channels buffering in Kodi? (saw this in a different thread thought I'd throw it out there) if yes, where is the init.rc file located?
