CS918 RK3188??????

Hi fellow media box addicts!

I've been online for the past 2 days searching for a new firmware for the Android media player that I purchased a month ago. I searched high and low with no match found.

I was wondering if anyone can help me, I've tried 13 different firmwares with no luck.

Here's a picture of what I have, as suggested in the forum, I took out the screw driver and opened her up.

The PCB revision number is X6_V2 1, 2014_09_20. The wifi/BT chip is RTL8723BU and the LAN chip is RTL8201P.

I've tried the following firmwares:
- CS918 1.24 (BT, wifi and LAN doesn't work)
- szy_rk3188_box_ap6210_131213_en (remote doesn't work)
- cyxtech_cs918_8089_6622_box_140512_by_Frant (doesn't work, bootup loops)
- cyxtech_rk31_cs918_8723_140509_8G2G (remote doesn't work)
- Geekbuying T-R42_ B351V2.0_20131203 (doesn't work bootup loops)
- RAM1GB_rk31_EKB311A_8723au_4.4_140430_8G2G(doesn't work bootup loops)
- rk3188_4.4.2_q7s_gc2155_zhongxing_v006_20140619(do esn't work bootup loops)
- EKB311B(CS918)_Android_4.4-07.10 (remote doesn't work)
- update_Q7_8_4(remote doesn't work)

I have the CS918 V7.0 20141208 which has BT & Wifi. I'm currently going thru a learning process to build a bootable SDHC card so I don't have to flash the NAND. However - I have not gotten the card to boot properly - its only a matter of time until I solve this. Have you tested DTS passthrough? If you have done this with the bootable sd card, pleas can you make a small tutorial how can i get a bootable sd card preferably with a Linux ?

Yes I will post it but this is a hobby, right now I've lent the box out to someone who is thinking of buying one, so when I get it back, I'll continue working on it.

The currently available Android communities for RK3188 Kit-kat source code is extremely out-dated. Some repos are about 2 yrs old. This means I'd have to expend a lot of development effort just to play catch up by adding device support, 1080p (EDID patch) and interface tweaks. I was wrong when I thought it was easy to download android code that works with 3188. I'd rather spend another $150 or so on a Tronsmart or Minix rather than waste my time on crap I paid $48 on ****. I'm throwing in the towel.

Rk3288 isn't much better, plenty of bugs, do some research before you give them your money.
