do the majority of the ROM flashers here demand deodexed , zipaligned, init.d support ?

to my opinion, root and twrp are the top of the list of our needs.

    any comment anyone please ?

for the record, the very first alpha version of this firmware was built from a mix of Dee's kernel source and KitKat sources from rockchip,
but as that kernel source still has annoying issues, I decided to use a stable and much appreciated (at least by me) binary kernel instead (back to the old rileyrom 2.7) and mate it with the 4.4.4 sources.

It appears that you don't need to select an alternate parameter file because app space is combined with internal SD space.

I did add an alternate boot.img that swaps internal and external SD, but it really isn't necessary. I haven't tested to see what will happen if I flash it. Since apps are on internal SD, it might screw up the installed apps, so it's best to try it before you install anything.

      again, thx for that one,
      i like it much,
but boot animation does not change from the original ROM's something went wrong.

next thing I wanna have is USB audio,
let s make it work !

usb audio was already working tks to an update.zip to apply thru twrp and cooked by stevejc.
the plan is to re apply it on this ROM, check if it works as expected (which will already be a milestone result many could consider as the end of the quest), understand what are the modifications it does to services.jar and why,
then re implement the mod's bits and peaces here and there in the build procedure to make this feature work by construction.

any opinion on this plan anyone ?
        tks!

found these sources for the services.jar patcher binary,
they are in c sharp (shame !) and for windows only.
GitHub is where people build software. More than 150 million people use GitHub to discover, fork, and contribute to over 420 million projects.

I try to understand and to find how to do the same on linux,
it involves using baksmali and smali and co.. which I just discover.

I would armly recommend m7pro owners to flash rriley's freakrom 1.0 then reflash d33's 1.32.7 kernel on top of it !
but major issue is standbay battery consumption being excessive, and a few
minor issues remain without which this would be the very best firmware ever existing for this great tablet, to my humble opinion.
give it a try and you will see as how close from a real good firmware we are now.

Good firmware, but turn camera image -90°.
                Will the new modified firmware?

Hi raxy, since you've managed to fix the last issue with your firmware, could you please share it? Tiny instruction on how to update & not brick the device would be very handy if possible.

And thank you for your outstanding work on this ROM! We all very appreciate it.

Hi and tks for your comment.
I am a bit busy but I will be on vacation soon, so I hope to find time to properly share the latest firmware I'm currently using (full compilation of both Android and kernel).
Are you already familiar with firmware flashing ?
Do you own an M7pro wifi or 3G ?
                    tks

back and front camera now take images with a correct orientation,
I will publish the fixed firmware soon
                      tks.

Thanks for your response, raxy, very kind of you.
There are plenty of flash instructions out there, think one of them should go well with your ROM, would be great if you provide a link for one.
                        And I have 3G version.

                          Virtul,
Here is the link to a ziped rom, to be installed , from a wintel machine, the rriley way , i.e. with its instructions and tools included.
The other delivery format, which i use, is an unique huge update.zip to be flashed from linux or wintel but using a command line tool.

Thanks, raxy, however this archive contains ROM without your latest fixes, is that correct? The issue with battery drain discourages me most.

Woot, finally I've managed to update the rom! thanks raxy and rriley.
But how do I fix the camera? currently it is almost unusable (picture is rotated by 45 degree and stretched)
Fixing this battery drain issue would also be great, raxy, can I apply the fix myself?

                                hi virtul,
thanks for being confident enough in this firmware,
you are now not far from nirvana,
next step is replacing the kernel with one of the kernels dee has compiled, you have to re use the same flashing tool you ve just used but limit it to only the kernel partition, let me find the correct link for you, unless you know what I mean and can find it yourself in the other section of this forum ?
