Still? Unless you're also rusty2788, I wasn't aware that you were having problems with the touchscreen. This ROM loads 9 or so touchscreen drivers, including "sichuan.ko" which is the only one that refers to the Sitronix 1530 used on the Emersons.

To identify the cause, I need the output from dmesg. Please reboot, then as soon as the homescreen appears, run this "adb shell dmesg > dmesg.txt" then send it to me in a private message.

Of course this assumes you have ADB set up. If not, open the Terminal app, run "su", then "dmesg > /sdcard/dmesg.txt" or "dmesg > /sdcard_external/dmesg.txt". Pull the file over to your PC using USB storage, then attach it to a pm.

Rusty2788, If restoring the factory image does not restore touch screen, wifi and camera, you may have a bad unit.

Doh, I just re-read forums. You are not the person with the bad unit. It's Sunday, I'm lazy reading I guess.

Yes mine is missed up but I'm not saying it was because of this ROM it just happened after I tried to install it with out success the first time
I just don't know why the factory image doesn't fix it unless it is just a bad unit.I know these thing are just cheap and not worth alot

Feedback of CWM (10 partitions) update - Polaroid PMID4311

Just wanted to give you some feedback on the updated version.

It has a problem with making backups. I'm using the stock ICS ATM and the process hung somewhere near the end. I had to power off and then when trying to do a restore, I got the error of a MD5 mismatch.

During the factory reset option, it mentioned that there wasn't an app2sd partition. The message showed that it was "skipping format of /sd-ext". Isn't the external sd at /mnt/extsd?

Trying to install William Kleiman's CM9 zip resulted in a "(bad) Installation aborted" message. Though could be just a version difference there.

I tried installing the SuperSU recovery zip file and the recovery did its thing until "Update Complete!", but I can't find a reference to it on the system. "su" via terminal went straight to "#" and adaway didn't ask for permission... strange. I also noticed that all of those recovery.img files and even some fragments of busybox were still lurking in the file system. Didn't I just wipe that during the factory reset?

I really appreciate what you are doing and hope that my tests are helpful.

Unfortunately, 'dmesg' was run too late, so the first 30 seconds of startup were lost (your log starts at 104 seconds after startup). The problem is probably trying to use Terminal - by the time you get it running, WiFi and USB activity have generated so many messages that the log buffer wraps and overwrites the initial entries. Putting a script in etc/init.d to run 'dmesg' it would probably be more reliable. I'll work on it...

Well, this is unexpected! sun4i-ts.ko seems to have decided that you have a resistive touchscreen (not capacitive) and it thinks it knows how to run it. Unfortunately, we can't tell what happened when the system tried to load the correct driver for your screen (sichuang.ko) because it happened immediately before this dump begins. The load order is: gt811, sichuang, ft5x_ts, [other irrelevant drivers], and sun4i-ts last.

Could you try again and post the entries timestamped 13.xxxx and 14xxx?

I haven't tried using it because I get read errors using my external card. Instead, I just gzip "nande" (the data partition) to my internal then copy it to my PC. After I've done (yet another) flash using LiveSuite, I reverse the process.

During the factory reset option, it mentioned that there wasn't an app2sd partition. The message showed that it was "skipping format of /sd-ext". Isn't the external sd at /mnt/extsd?
CWM and the stock ROM have conflicting usages of terms like "sdcard" and "sd-ext". In CWM '/sd-ext' is the second partition on your external SD, typically used for Link2SD.

Trying to install William Kleiman's CM9 zip resulted in a "(bad) Installation aborted" message. Though could be just a version difference there.
Or, it could be a sign of a bad SDCard reader - the problem I encountered. Try copying the zip to the internal SD and apply from there - WFM.

I tried installing the SuperSU recovery zip file and the recovery did its thing until "Update Complete!", but I can't find a reference to it on the system. "su" via terminal went straight to "#" and adaway didn't ask for permission... strange.
You should check /system/xbin to see which 'su' you have. The stock version is about 6kb and asks no questions.
