OK, reverting back to stock TEST 1.2 and then I'll copy the known good .apks and one of the unknown .apks and try again.

FYI, I've already tried all .apks except for these three:

GenieWidget.apk
Talk.apk
Vending.apk

All other .apks have been tested.

I'll test these three and then report back soon...

Vending.apk is the market! So that is an important thing to have installed.

It works with everything copied over except networklocation.apk

OK, all other .apk's have been tested and all are good.

By the way, there is no NetworkLocation.apk file on the original system - I checked.

And folks, we have a working market!!! Yeah!

Now @Finless will cook us up a new ROM with everything all set!

EDIT: WooHoo!! Working stock calendar and email apps that sync perfectly with Exchange servers! I haven't had that capability (calendar app & sync with exchange) since I had this tablet - even with any other custom ROM (RO or RW!).

EDIT 2: Hmm, the one thing that I don't see is the stock Contacts app - can that be added?

EDIT 3: (ok, last edit, I promise!) - After installed ADW EX launcher (THE best for tablets!) - it has a "Contacts" icon on the home screen by default. So, I tried it and sure enough it works! However, the "Contacts" app doesn't show up on any app list - the only way to get to it is it via ADW - even then it only shows in ADW's "Activity" list, not the normal app list... stange...

OMG thank you for testing all this!

OK here is the deal with Contacts/sync. It will never show up as a APP. It links through lib files to your settings! However I have not figured out how to RIP the settings APK and add it to the menus. I hope that makes sense? One day I will.

HOWEVER, I can tell you how to add a sync settings icon to your desktop!

Go to the Market and download anycut.

Then run this and choose add a short cut. Then scroll through the HUGE list and find conatcts and sync (I recall that is the name but I could be wrong). You may see several in the list! For me I saw 4 and all of them force closed except one of them. Once I found the one that worked, I now could edit my contacts and sync. Check that out man... I bet it will work for you. Later I will find a way to edit the Tab's settings.apk to add it.

Let me know your results please and THANKS A TON for figuring this out! I will do a ROM with full market now that I know whats broke.

Oh and can I ask if in the apps drawer you have a news and weather icon?

Actually, I'm fine since I can get to the contact app via ADW... No problem there.

For the sync settings, check out a free app called "Quick Sync Settings" from the Market. It's basically just a shortcut to the stock Accounts & Sync Settings screen! Works perfectly! Maybe include that in your ROM for now, until you figure out a way to add it to the settings app....

And yes, the news and weather icon is there and the app works fine (minus auto-location detection of course).

Well jtrosky, what you have now is exactly what I would cook up! So when I do cook a ROM, no, you wont get any benefit. My Stock ROM 1.21 has all the nand flash memory allocations and tunings!

THANK YOU for helping me find the problem child APK. I would have never guessed it was netwroklocation.apk in a million years! But thinking about it, it does make some sense.
Now you do realize we SHOULD have a working Network Loaction Sevices for us so things like google, maps, weather, etc can find us over WiFi. Other Android devices can do this so we need to as well
It just may take some time ripping on APKs to make it work!

But I now have a known bases to cook a ROM with what I concider FULL Market capabilities. See the other ROM guys use APKs. As I told you .so /lib files and the framework all need to work together. That is the basis to have a good Market and be able to install other google apps properly!

So please let me ask. Your google experience now with sync and Market and calendar, all work properly? Did they not before?

Did you have plans to write a new Settings.apk for your rom, or keep it stock? The one I'm using has ugly icons and won't recompile xD

My "Google experience" with this ROM has been better than ANY other ROM I've used (and I've tried them all).

Like I said before, I've NEVER been able to sync via exchange with a calendar, contacts AND email properly.

With your ROM, I am syncing my email, contacts and calerdar with an exchange server without issue, all using stock Google apps. Gmail works perfectly, Market works perfectly, full RW access is working perfectly and so on... everything just works...

I also had issues purchasing paid apps with most other ROMS. No issue with your ROM there either!

Seems reaally fast too...

FYI - even though I can get to the contacts app via ADW EX, as soon as I tap on a contact in the list to see/edit the details, the app FC's on me...

However, at least the contacts are available to apps such as email, etc!!

jtrosky, did you try my anycut method? Try it you might get to the correct sync settings dialog that wont FC. Read my post about that a few pages up.

i'll try it...im on 0511 (older) Doc's rom works great...but I have no wifi (error) my capacitive buttons dont work, so i'm using the one's on the screen...and i have no sound...so i'll try anything!
